Yes, I have little ones but I have always gotten up at least an hour before them to get some alone time. |
| After my alarm goes off at 6, I spend 30-40 minutes listening doing some combination of drifting back to sleep, listening to NPR, and surfing on my ipad. (my phone is usually plugged in downstairs but I guess the ipad is no better). Every day I think I should get out of bed by 6:20 but usually it's closer to 6:40 and DS and I get out of the house much later than we should. He's a wildcard - sometimes he's up before 7 and sometimes I have to wake him up at 7:15 or 7:20. |
| 10-15 minutes. This is my morning wake up time, complete with a cup of coffee. |
|
None. Up and get ready. I do spend about 5-10 minutes in the car at work before getting out. I send emails, texts, check news.
I spend more time in the evening. Usually about 30 minutes. Dcum, news, other forums, email, texts. |
Alarm clock and deployed husband. |
+1. Deployed husband called 2 hours before my alarm this morning. Very happily woke up and answered. |
Yep, but they are 11 and 16. Oh how I remember the toddler days and boy am I enjoying the freedom the tween/teen age brings. |
Maybe 5 min if I happen to wake up before baby alarm clock. Usually she wakes me up so I go and start our day. I like to sleep . I get plenty of alone time at work so I don't need that in the am.
|
| 5-10 min to check news updates, messages, and a forum thread I'm active in (not this forum). Then I'm up and at it. |
good idea. i'm pretty addicted and I hate it. |
| I thought this was just my own bad habit! On a good day, only 10 minutes. I've actually started setting my alarm 10-20 minutes earlier than I need for just this reason. I used to be much more able to hop right out of bed and go, but these days... ugh. Perhaps I will make cutting this habit out my new year's resolution. |
|
On a weekday, I might check take a minute to check the news from overnight.
On a weekend, I'll typically wake up hours before my husband and teen DS and will stay in bed with my iPad or phone catching up on TV or reading articles. |
| I don't see why this is a bad habit. It's one of my most favored parts of my day. |
Get a proper alarm clock. |

I wake up every morning like a fireman. Then turn into a drill sergeant until the children are in school. Only then do I pull out my phone to see what the day has brought me. |
