My thanksgiving yesterday!

Sooo...what happened to the brother? Did he stick around or run?

Consenting adults having sex is perfectly fine (though not in my house on my sheets or my couch thank you very much - get a fucking hotel) but my SIL and my Brother is some crazy shit, adding in myself with my brother is downright disgusting.

You could've gone down there, let them know the jig was up and could they move the party elsewhere if that's what they wanted to do. You acted like this fornication was occurring at an Amish house raising. It is really not that big of a deal. (happily married and no I haven't done this myself but I could see how it must feel awesome and 'therapeutic' as someone said).

I have to agree. It's a hilarious story, and their lack of discretion was over the top, but your DH way overreacted! Calls his sister a slut and kicks her out? Was she raping your brother? His did not have to be handled this way.
Your 14 year old had enough tact and maturity to pull you to the side to tell you quietly what was happening, it's a shame that your husband didn't take a page out of her book.

Totally agree. No one is saying they should have pretended it never happened, but why make a scene? Obviously it's not even remotely ok that a 14-yr old girl saw that, and two adults should know better (at least lock the door!), but the reaction seems totally over the top and created unnecessary chaos. The name-calling is also gross. It doesn't help an upset teenage girl to hear her father screaming "slut" at his sister for having consensual sex, no matter how inappropriate the setting. And the sister's sexual history is totally irrelevant plus none of OP's (or her husband's) business!

No I'd go easy on the DH. He's hosting and this is how his sister treats his hospitality, totally embarrassing him with her behavior - probably drags up sibling history. And come on, that's really slutty. Does she never say no?

So DH's sister is the only one who is "wrong" here?

I'm not really clear on whose brother was doing the tango. Op first says it's her brother but then later calls him 'her brother' twice. Is it SIL's brother? Anyway, we don't know what anybody thought of their brother's behavior. We only know her DH was highly incensed with his sister's behavior.

Exactly

Two consenting adults who have been seen by their teenage niece, going at it in someone else's house. This is worse than the other thread.. the cousin having sex in Grandma's house. These are adults, lean some self control and discretion.

OP I'm not sure about your dh losing it like that. I can understand stopping them. Likely would have said something like "OH.. sorry. I didn't believe DD when she told us what she saw. Maybe take it to a hotel?"

The rest of the drama didn't need to happen.

Was your brother underage or something?

Exactly. It's not like they were cheating.

The sister's past infidelity is not "family history" - it's between her and her ex. And why is it embarrassing to him? Sounds like DH is too invested in his sister's sexual behavior. And nice that you say the sister is "really slutty" but the male relative engaging in the exact same behavior gets a total pass. Of course.

How about this: she's a slut and he's a tool. They ruined Thanksgiving for their entire family by their insensitive actions. What the hell? Who has sex in someone else's basement where anyone can walk in on them (including kids/teens) and then with someone who was previously banging someone they were related to?? Sluts and tools that's who. Drug addicts as well.

They could have made excuses at the very least and left to go to a hotel or just hooked up on their own time after Thanksgiving.

No self-control.

Yeah let 'em hump on the living room couch in front of everyone, it's no big deal, perfectly fine if they're consenting adults.

Sounds like the barn yard.

You had to have known that your husband would overreact. You should have told your daughter not to mention it to anyone, and that you and she would discuss it later. Then, you should have gone down without being noticed, quietly told them that your daughter had seen them, and asked if they could possibly continue their conjugal visit elsewhere after dinner. No one else needed to be informed. However, since you apparently cannot think clearly in a minor situation, this was hilarious to read.

If they start dragging their azzes across the carpet and marking their territory you may have to put them outside.
