Completely agree. The husband and the guy she's having an affair with are both unattractive.

And something is a lttle off but I can't put my hands on it. Perhaps it's the writing ?

Anyway, I plan on watching next week's episode; hopefully it gets better. If not, I'll just watch it on mute just to see SJP outfits.

Ha, were you watching with us on Sunday night?

DW and I also thought that there was something "off" with the writing. Shows usually need a couple episodes to hit their strides and for the actors to fully understand their characters. However, THC's acting was just really bad. I understand that he's supposed to be awkward, but his delivery was just too stilted and over-acted. The party scene was ridiculous and unreal, but Molly Shannon really stole the show. The best part of the show is that they captured the resentment that can build in a marriage.

I forgot just how pretty the NYC suburbs are along the Hudson! We have friends in Hastings-on-Hudson and need to go visit

You have t been to the same parties as me. I'm 46 and DH and I totally felt like we'd been at that party. Very realistic in our crowd.

I always liked that actor. But I tuned in for SJP. WOuldn't of cared who played the hubs.

Of course you did. You can't construct grammatically correct sentences; we would expect no less from you.

Well, your post has a comma splice, so perhaps you should not be so quick to jump on someone else.

There you go. Certainly less egregious than writing "wouldn't of". Pretty sure one is a typo.

I just watched it and truly hated it. It's trying to have it both ways - half farce/comedy, half drama, but is somehow missing the mark so the whole thing seems stilted and unreal. I love dark comedies but this feels hollow. I can't connect with the character of her husband at all - he would be more effective if he played it straighter. It's missing something fundamental that it needs to make it work - maybe it will get better as the season goes on, but I don't have much interest in watching another one.

SJP is fine, but she can only do so much with this material.

I liked the first episode, I didn't like the second. It was soooo boring, characters were annoying and I didn't like either one of them. I was surprised it was only a 30 minute episode. Not sure I am tuning in for episode 3.

It's not great but I just really enjoy seeing SJP on the small screen again. I find it oddly comforting.

I really liked it.

THC is a fine actor, but so miscast in the role of SJP's husband. They are not remotely believable as a married couple.

sJP is not attractive-in real life he's the best she could do without fame. She's very unfortunate looking and has aged poorly. I'll give her that she has a great body and a pretty eye color.

Does anyone feel like she's she still playing Carrie-very entitled for someone that just got caught cheating.

Yes. Especially the similar projection that Carrie used to do with her boyfriends as appearing with her character comparing her year-long affair with THC emotional/almost affair with his old college friend.

THC doesn't seem suited for this role, or at least paired with SJP.

I thought the writing was good. Funnily enough, I was distracted by THC's mustache (in a bad way) so I loved it when SJP identified the mustache as the point when she stopped being attracted to him.

THC's character seems much older than 50- is he supposed to be, in the show?

And although I don't find THC that attractive, I'd take him any day over Julian (SJP's lover). Ewww. I don't think he was well cast for the part of Julian, though he was very good in those scenes.

I don't think she's particularly attractive (&, at times, has looked somewhat unattractive) but think she has actually aged well. She looks better on Divorce than she did for much of SATC, imo. She looks older now, of course, (because she is!) but not by much & is more attractive overall. Maybe it's the hair?
