If you cut out trips to Target

I cut out trips to both Target and Costco. I get everything from Amazon, Google Express, or Instacart. The amount I save from not buying impulse stuff far outweighs what I pay for subscriptions and markups (probably just by cutting out one trip TBH). I know which sites have the best prices on what I buy as well.

I only go to an actual store for produce and sometimes meats, and that's a regular grocery store.

I need to stop going there.

So the diapers and food and lotion will not get used? Your kids will not wear the costumes? You will not distribute the candy? Seems like a very productive trip to me...aside from the missing windex.

Of course they will get used. My kids won't wear 2 costumes each, and I probably didn't need 600 pieces of candy. Most of which will probably be eaten well before Halloween.

Us too. And if I don't like something, I return it with no questions asked (not just paperware, but food, non perishables, clothes, electronics, etc.).

Yep. Amazon FTW. I can buy more for less without having to haul it around, plus I am rarely tempted by stuff I don't need.

Same with me. Paper products come from Costco. Birthday party gifts come from Amazon. Shampoo/toothpaste comes from Amazon/Costco or even the grocery store. Even if it's 50 cents more there, it saves me the impulse buying from Target.

I love Target. How do I keep the cost of spending down when I go? Well, my husband tags along... He loves Target and loves going with me, so I browse a lot less when I'm in the stores with him. I save a ton of money doing my shopping there every week with their phone app.

Yep, this exactly!

This is me exactly. So I got the Redcard for true essentials (like diapers, garbage bags) and have them shipped free. I then don't allow myself to make another purchase if we have a balance on the red card.

I once filled an entire shopping cart with snacks, clothes, shoes, home decor, paper products, cosmetics, etc. and then, because I was super out of it, misplaced the cart in the store. I had spent an hour accumulating all of this stuff and was really sad about it for about a minute, until I realized that I actually needed approximately zero of the things in that cart.

My husband just signed up for Amazon prime, so I just went to check out some prices. What is the story on cat litter? $13 (when it's not on sale, which it often is) at Target and $22 at Amazon? Uh, no thanks.

You have to be careful with Amazon prime. Monitor it closely since prices do change.
