The thread title was too obscure for me to have any idea what the thread was about before clicking and reading.

It's a TV show. A national debate hosted by NBC. What more do you want?

Proposed new thread title: THERE IS A PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION GOING ON IN THE UNITED STATES AND SOME ARE INTERESTED IN WHICH CANDIDATE WILL BE BETTER AS COMMANDER IN CHIEF (OF THE ARMED FORCES. OF THE UNITED STATES. OF AMERICA.) SO THERE IS A PROGRAM ON TELEVISION TONIGHT IN WHICH BOTH CANDIDATES WILL ANSWER QUESTIONS REGARDING NATIONAL DEFENSE ISSUES. ON A REALLY BIG BOAT. IN NEW YORK. WHICH IS A CITY. IN AMERICA.

He seemed sharper on the Apprentice. Guess because he was "in his element" in a board room, and he's getting flustered under these circumstances. But I still can't stand that lying Hillary.

He ain't looking presidential.

I was a Bernie supporter and I really don't like many things about Hillary. But this forum showed that at least she is qualified to be President. Trump was HORRIFYING.

you mean answering questions to show he is actually qualified to be president?

sorry, but I don't think that is a valid excuse at all. You're hoping he won't remain flustered when he's actually in the job?

You don't honestly believe he was talking off the cuff on that show, do you? He had cue cards, a teleprompter, multiple takes.

Goodness, people. IT WAS TV.

I didn't intend it as an excuse. I meant that he was flustered because he's out of his league. Still, Hillary insisted on continuing to lie about the classified header stuff, showing she can't help but lie. I'm unimpressed with both.

Matt Lauer is a Hamptons liberal - of course he had to try and knife Trump with that tweet follow-up. That'll certainly get him props at the next wine party! So much for partisan journalists.

I thought he handled his own. He's OBVIOUSLY not a Yale lawyer.
The soundbite of the night was that retired military man telling her he'd be in prison if he did what she did.

For a liberal, he did a good job not letting HRC off the hook. He opened with some tough questions.

OMG, blaming Trump's bumbling on Matt Lauer is laughable.

Am I crazy or did Trump say that Putin was a better leader than Obama?

I think Trump came across as more genuine and as a leader who will listen to those around him with military expertise.

Clinton came across as arrogant and as a person who has all the answers. I don’t like the “answers” she has had in the past. Don’t trust her for our future.

You're so used to seeing slick lawyers bullshit you with poll-tested consultant-written soundbites that you forgot how a normal person talks. Hillary is a robot - a warhawk salivating for conflict with Russian/Iran/China.
