+1 Probably my favorite show, ever.

But agree with a PP that season 2 is cringy. It was during the writer's strike and it shows.

That's also the the season with the best scene of the whole series. (You all know which one I'm talking about.) So still very much worth watching.

Yes. And despite the cringe-y storyline, Jesse Plemmons is so very terrific throughout--he (almost) makes it work.

FNL if only to enjoy the glory of Tim Riggins, the most wonderfully complex character to ever grace my TV screen. And, he's yummy.

SUCH a good show. Not dark at all. I watched it on maternity leave also.

Another vote for FNL since you haven't seen it. I love Tim Riggins. Great show (and I'm a fan of GG).

Agree, FNL is amazing. It ruined like all other shows for me, truly. You have to power through the first few episodes to get into it, but the characters and emotional depth are just fantastic. Matt Saracen and his grandma are my favorite tv pairing ... unmatched, ever.

Wait, what do you consider the series best scene? Landry wasn't in the Coach/Matt bathroom scene.

I just re-watched Gilmore Girls from start to finish. I hadn't seen most of those episodes since they originally aired and I have to say, it was an entirely different show with my adult eyes! I related more to Lorelai than Rori and it was so strange. I could finally understand the Luke and Lorelai attraction. (I really did not get it the first time.)

It was highly enjoyable and fun and I can't wait for the new show to start.

BTW - Friday Night Lights is SO good. You can't go wrong with either.

Yes, the bathroom scene. Landry was in the other big storyline of season two, but that one was awful.

Depends. Do you want funny or drama. Gilmore girls is a great funny show. FNL is good, but more drama then fun

Thanks everyone! I know I should watch FNL and I'm off until Sept, so at some point I will. But I just love Gilmore Girls and needed something fun and light after Breaking Bad ( and possible PPD creeping up on me.) I was just feeling guilty that I was rewatching a show and not watching a new one. But after watching the pilot (which I don't remember watching during first run and def haven't seen in reruns) all guilt was lifted.

Lol, this thread feels like it was kind of pointless based on the end result, but I guess at least we all had an opportunity to proclaim our love for FNL.

This makes me think I need to give FNL another shot! I liked season 1 fine but gave up a few episodes into season 2 not expecting it to get better.
