FNL is the opposite of dark. It is real and sometimes very sad, but it is always redemptive. It is a terrific, terrific show.

Definitely FNL. I can't stand the Gilmore Girls. Loralynn, or whatever her name is, drives me nuts.

I second the vote for both. Try FNL first, I suppose, since you haven't seen it before. Like the others said, season 2 isn't too good - but the show is still very bingeworthy.

Do you have a spouse? If so, watch Friday Night Lights together. At its heart, it's a show about a marriage.

I haven't watched Gilmore Girls but from what I hear, watch that by yourself while on leave from work.

But agree with a PP that season 2 is cringy. It was during the writer's strike and it shows.

That's also the the season with the best scene of the whole series. (You all know which one I'm talking about.) So still very much worth watching.

Friday Night Lights--no question. GG is so annoying, especially when you watch it streaming; it highlights the stupidity.
