The unhappy return of Bullis Mom

The Ivy League consists of Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Brown, Cornell, Columbia, Dartmouth, and Penn – all schools located in the northeast. What if you want to attend college in the south to be near your family or due to an aversion to cold climates? Well, there are plenty of world-renowned institutions of higher learning in the American south, and it just so happens that eight of them provide educational experiences and pedigrees that many would say are comparable to that of the “Ivy League.” While a few of the colleges on this list may not be traditionally as highly regarded, they are still considered well-respected substitutes for the eight schools of the Ivy League and a paper from one of these institutions will certainly never hold you back from your ambitious dreams. The term “Harvard of the South” is often associated with all eight of these elite southern colleges, but I prefer to call these colleges “the Magnolia League.”

Do you hear yourself?

Just call it a "well-regarded college" and we'll believe you.
Further explanations, especially those expressed with such deluded self-complacency, greatly undermine your credibility.

I didn't write this. It was copy/pasted from another site. Someone asked, I responded.

Personally? We didn't care where she went, so long as she's happy. She cared, since she's chasing a degree in the medical field.

So you admit you plagiarized someone else's work? And that you didn't pause to think that this sort of fruity long-winded explanation sounds defensive and ridiculous?

I'm glad your daughter is thriving.

I never claimed it was mine. Google it and find the link. It provided a clearer explanation than I could give.

Are you so ignorant that you don't know to put quotation marks and cite your sources?
They teach you that in elementary school.

Not a reader of that thread, or a follower of Bullis mom, but the proud recipient of a JD and a member of the Bar (like 75% of DCUM readers), so here goes:

You are not being slandered. You can't be personally identified, so there has been no damage to your reputation IRL. Also, slander is spoken communication, not written.

Also, I have never heard of the tort of "allowing slander." But it's a common law tort, so YMMV

Not a free speech/ 1st amendment issue. DCUM is not a governmental entity. Jeff can censor all day long and be fine.

But, I would be careful about making threats on a public forum. Particularly with DC on edge over the potential metro terror attacks. I mean, I assumed that you were vaguely threatening to sue DCUM (which you can't). But the NSA could decide you have more sinister intentions. In fact, your threat could be the reason metro is shut down, and the FBI could be surrounding your house as you read. Plus side: Gito is lovely this time of year

I don't agree with your assessment. I'm not sure if you are aware, but I was 'outed' not long ago, Jeff knows who I am personally, and as a result of someone posting my public information on this forum, lots of others are aware of who I am every time Jeff makes comments that shows he can link my IP address to me personally. If nothing comes of that, there is no issue. If something does, it's apparently documented on this forum.

Not really worried about the other bits, but thanks for the tip! You are exactly the type of attorney I'd expect in this area. And you've kind of made every lawyer joke relevant - LOL.

Bullis Mom, you are vile. No one has said anything derogatory about your daughter; however, you are most definitely fair game. You've even identified yourself, so I'm not sure what you're complaining about. You have added absolutely nothing constructive to the issue of that thread - only your deranged hate for Langley HS. You are no hero, though you clearly fancy yourself one.

I feel sorry for your neighbors, who probably do send their kids to Langley. I'm sure they take cover whenever they see you coming as they know you'll have nothing but bitterness and bile to spew about the school their kids attend. I am eternally glad you took your kid and left the Langley community. We're all better off for it.

And I quote:

".....to claim VICTORY all because your child didn't succeed at Langley"

My child was a straight A student and has been since elementary. I defended this attack on my child. It was deleted.

According to your many posts on the subject, your daughter had many issues at Langley which is why you pulled her. This is all according to YOU. Perhaps you've overshared one time too many.

Many issues with administration and staff, as in no coordination between teachers re: workloads and an administration that was unresponsive. Cooper, under Randall's rule, was a much better experience.

The poster said she didn't succeed. She was very successful despite the teachers/administration. She just wasn't happy there.

This is DCUM, not a research paper.

I've responded in this thread, because it shows the absolute viciousness of women in the DC area. There is at least one Langley parent on this thread as well, behaving in that special manner Langley parents do. Congrats to all for being exactly who I thought you were - cements my desire to move when my youngest graduates. I'll take "flyover country" or the "racist south" over this crowd any day!

If you had any integrity at all, you would have block copied my entire post (and we know you know how to use the block, copy, paste function; see Southern Ivy) instead of the horrible botched crop quote you managed. A few points: in its proper context, the quote was about your numerous bad actions and specific irrelevant complaints you levied against Langley and its staff that were irrelevant and a total diversion from the thread. You were the one dying to scream "VICTORY" (as you did in one of your posts which you identified yourself in). And you're putting way too much of your own bias in the definition of success. I said she "didn't succeed" as in she didn't graduate from Langley, she left and went elsewhere. The point of my post (the vast majority of the post that you ignored ) demonstrated your personal vendetta against LHS and anything relating to it. If she did in fact graduate from Langley then I apologize to you both. But your vicious baseless wanton attacks against the LHS community continue.

I tried to copy my own post to make this clear (the same post you chose 10 words from and ignored the other 100 words) but Jeff deleted it before I could do so. So no slander tears for you.

By not providing the link, or placing quotes around the text, you most certainly were trying to pass that off as your own. Which is peculiar in and of itself because it's so incredibly officious. I would never want to be associated with that kind of self-promotional BS, but to each their own. I'm curious why you feel the need to brag so outrageously about your daughter? How do you think your daughter would feel, being outed here on DCUM?? Because I guarantee you, you have so overshared that it's pretty clear who you are. Why would you expose yourself - not to mention your daughter - like that? You're the only one to blame for that, by the way.

That was my question. So I googled, and discovered that there are about 100 different opinions on this. Interestingly, my alma mater makes almost every list, which I did not know. But then, I rarely name drop my college, and have never, ever said that I attended a "Southern Ivey". Turns out, you can get through a good chunk of life by saying, "we met in college" instead of "we met at our southern Ivey". So that one line tells me everything I need to know about Bullis mom.

Not graduating from Langley is not succeeding? I consider it a choice - she wasn't forced out. She chose to leave. The fact you would consider that not succeeding speaks to the absolute arrogance of staff and parents in the Langley district, and tells me you are in 100% defense mode of a school and administration that clearly failed the kids by covering up a heinous act, and allowing the perp to abscond the following year with Langley parents' money.

I encouraged her to go to a no-name school. She wanted a name due to her pursuit of a career in medicine. This is what DCUM parents call these schools in the college forum. I thought y'all would realize that?

I'm simply tired - cat woke me up about six times last night.

No one of importance to me reads DCUM, and the friends she has don't really care. Unless you are suggesting that DCUM posters are a vicious bunch?

Stop playing the victim and deflecting blame. You goad people, they come get you, period. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.
