You are a horrible human being. |
I'm certainky not a fan of smoking but I would rather have 10 smokers living next door to me than have you as my neighbor. |
| Do you haters feel the same about dope smokers? If not, why not? |
| Smoking is (was) my absolute favorite vice. Ever. I miss it every single day. |
+1 |
| Get a hose and spray them. Say you thought they were on fire. |
| Death to smokers!!! Oh, right... |
The overwhelming majority of smokers started smoking during adolescence or early adulthood (9/10 smokers started before age 18 & 99% before age 26 ). People in their teens & early 20s aren't exactly known for thinking about the long-term consequences their decisions -- which makes perfect sense given that the frontal cortex of the brain isn't even fully developed until around age 26. So when 18-year-olds are tempted to smoke in order to fit in, rebel or deal with stress, the fact that it could lead to a longterm nicotine addiction that, in turn, leads to cancer & emphysema decades from now often isn't enough to stop them. |
Jesus. Smokers are also human beings. You will survive this pp. Holy heel take a chill pill. -non smoker |
| I love their yellow teeth. |
The worst yellow teeth I ever saw was from drinking tea. |
So should everybody quit using grills outside too? Those create exponentially more smoke than cigarettes. And tiki torches? Candles? Incense? Diesel trucks? Bonfires? Op, lots of things outside create stinky smoke. Like when I'm behind a nasty dump truck in DC, I close my windows. When a diesel snow plow runs his engine in front of my house for 13 hours, I close my windows. When I grill, I close my windows. I close them when it rains too. Can you make rain stop? Can you ban all bad perfume? Because I HATE the smell of vanilla and sweet/musky perfumes more than anything. More than smoke for sure. Oh and please ban B.O. |

Smoker here.
I have kicked many addictions. Have been through a ton of shit. But smoking is the hardest battle for me. A little compassion for us. Nobody got a DUI or shot up a school after having nicotine. Just got us some slack, okay? |
PP here. "cut us some slack." There are far more things for you to get worked up about. |

Smoking is a problem when it affects the quality of life for others.
I grew up in the day where when seated in a restaurant, you had a choice to sit in the Smoking or Non-Smoking section! As if second-hand smoke did no harm! Thankfully bars in my state ban smoking inside....Even higher education institutions have Smoking-Only areas. Too bad casinos still allow people to light up.
In the 40's/50's, smoking was viewed as glamorous and sophisticated. (Look how in the old movies how EVERYONE lit up....Women even carried fancy cigarette cases!!) But since learning that cigarettes were cancer sticks plus caused heart and breathing issues later down the line, it baffles me that anyone would even start!! Especially knowing how addicting nicotine is!! Who wants to look 40 when they are 26, have yellow teeth/nails plus have a hacking cough every single morning??! You couldn't pay me a billion to put one of those disgusting things in my mouth. I see 0 benefits in doing so. |
