Seriously, it will be obvious you are supposed to wear it and as a result it will be fine to look like you aren't 100% fashionable. Wearing fancy scarves, etc., will look really lame. |
I like it! I probably would not choose to wear this outfit but if you MUST wear a polo this is a good look. |
Why does any company think a good idea! I echo eArlier advice on pairing with cardigan. I am petite so asked for smallest size and the washed and dried hoping to shrink.
Company name in green so had a shorter but not quite cropped cardigan in that color. Had ankle lenth pants and loafers on. I got comimented all day. Too funny. They are awful and you have my sympathies. |
Complimented! |
Well, since I threw up in my mouth as soon as OP said "maroon"....
All you PP's talking about fit: OP never said it was an ogre-sized man shirt! |
That was my advice previously and I was thinking OP has to wear this for an event, not consistently, and that is why I suggested pinning it in the back and wearing a cardigan over it. Otherwise, yes, get them tailored to flatter your shape if this is an every day forced polo shirt wearing kind of job, and even deeper and more heartfelt condolences! |
I was just thinking something similar. The company ordered polo shirts because they look good on men. So whoever ordered it has an idea that all the employees are men or the token women can deal. It's a little 1980's. |
Now I have a horrible ad at the bottom of the forum for "4imprint" customized polo shirts. |
I agree. She looks cute, not hideous. |
I am now being forced to wear this god awful polo shirt! Even a men’s small is horrible and nothing is making it cute! Plus it doesn’t help the darn things are solid red and purple, who the heck picked those colors? Bosses are cheap and won’t order women’s shirts. HELP! |
Get it altered and submit the bill for reimbursement.
Agree with the pp who said can you imagine if they ordered all womens shirts for the men! |
She can't try on higher-end golf shirts, she's stuck with the company issue one. |
+1 incredibly sexist and dated |
Honestly, if you are stuck with it, I would own it. Wear the big baggy polo shirt with baggy khakis and bad shoes, like I'm guessing the males in your organization will do (based on this limited insight). Or I would wear the polo over a long sleeved black T-shirt and fitted black pants, emphasizing how ridiculous it looks on you. |
And everything looks good on a size 00 |
