Aren't you a charmer?

Almost as charming as people who leave 3 messages within a single day. Nothing is that urgent. Get some perspective.
. Re read the original post no one said anything about calling the admissions Ofc 3 times in one day. Take the focus off yourself. You sound schlocky.

Yeah I also don't believe for one second that they work in admissions. They are just here to stir the pot.

This is a terrible attitude given that your ASAP doesn't seem to be that soon.

ASAP is "as soon as I can," not "as quickly as you'd like." It's usually 72 hours-a week. I'm rarely at my desk. I'm running around campus, in meetings, at community events, etc. As with the other admissions person, I'm on top of email.

PP here-- my website also clearly says to email me with inquiries. I'm happy to schedule a phone call, but I don't feel bad about putting non-urgent vm at the bottom of my to do list. Sorry the whole world is not at your beck and call.

It can take you up to a week to return a phone call? This doesn't speak well of the school.

Yes, when the instructions clearly state to email me. We're not big on enrolling families who can't follow simple instructions.

For crying out loud, why on earth would an admissions person who complains of not having time to return calls be spending so much time responding to and reading posts on DCUM? Which school is your employer PP? I would like to know so I can avoid it.

I am the admissions chair at a small school in the area. We have no lack of applications. If someone is rudely persistant or impatient I make a note of it. It could be the difference in your acceptance.

Wow, all that power has really gone to your head.

Amen. What school with plenty of applications wants to have PITA parents admitted? We like parents who are polite, partners with us in their child's education, and able to follow simple instructions.

Agree. Job tenure would be pretty short with that attitude.

Aha, the PITA parent troll is back! The one whose favorite theme is that anyone who isn't a slavish supplicant to the adminissions dept is a PITA parent. Haven't heard from you for a while. You need to vary your phrases more, they're a dead giveaway.

Instead of poking the admissions officers on the thread, you might want to take note of the kind of parent behaviors can derail your application.

Not the OP, but I don't think calling and leaving 2 messages a few weeks apart (I think I have that right) is "rudely persistent" or impatient.

I agree.

There is only 1 Admissions person who really posts on DCUM, for damage control at her school when it gets criticism on here.

Everyone else is a charlatan.

Holton's website says to schedule tours through the website portal. Seems simple enough to me.

If you work in independent education, you essentially work for a business. That's not to say that independent educators aren't caring or emphatic; often, they really are. But this sort of sentiment makes you sound lazy and careless. I hope that my children don't attend the institution that you represent.

Why don't you call the main office and ask the best way to schedule a tour? What is the point in assuming the worst? If you don't like the school when you see it, that's a different story.
