I don't want to read it, but can someone summarize why the "Kane" thread is SO long?

it amazes me that some people can totally keep their heads in the sand. even if you don't listen to adult contemporary/r&b and you're from this area you should've at least met a black person who knows who donnie simpson is. local radio dj in this area for a most of the 80s/90s. left 93.9 five years ago and is now back on the air at 102.3.

i don't know much about or like that kane show crap but i know who he is/what he's known for.

I probably know more about politics, international relations, religious history, books, or economics than you do. I think those things are more important for me to pay attention to than some local dj's. Glad you got YOUR priorities straight though.

The funny thing is... it probably is not more important, makes you feel more important... but in reality, your knowledge has not helped the world in any way.

Entertainment is way more important in a society that politics.

His contract wasn't renewed, that is why he left the airwaves.

(What type of radio show do they have? What type of music? Maybe it's not a genre I listen to. (?) Maybe I am not their demographic, I don't know! I am 42, white, live in NoVA with 2 kids. As I said, I also grew up here - NoVA.)

Ha! I am 39, white, with 3 kids and I also grew up here (Fairfax). I have NO clue who these guys are (and I have a tween who does listen to pop radio in the car). I surmise from this thread they are two local DJs but who pays attention to the names of the guy reading the commercials between the Katy Perry and Taylor Swift songs?

So he's not just a DJ a lot of people have never heard of and don't care about, but he wasn't even good enough at his job to keep it? Remind me again why I should give a rats ass who this is?

Well, unless she's a teacher, or a historian, or an economist or works in international affairs, or .......

How has your knowledge of these radio station workers helped the world?

i'm the PP and sure you know more about all that stuff than i do. i never said some black local and very popular dj and tv show host was the most important thing to me. i don't think i ever used the word important at all come to think of it.

also this is entertainment and pop culture. take your sadditty religious history knowledge elsewhere. we're all beneath you.

30 years of staying in radio is rarely heard of in that industry:

Almost 18,000 twitter followers is a big number, he has interviewed a ton of big name celebrities through the years: https://twitter.com/DonnieSimpson

Here is what I have picked up:
- he is a local DJ
- he is (maybe?) getting divorced
- his ex is named Natasha

that wouldn't take 170 pages though ..

Lots and lots of debate on the party in the wrong.

I listened Kane when he first took over the previous morning show. Can't stand that type of morning show or most anyway. They are the reason I got xM.
