I don't want to read it, but can someone summarize why the "Kane" thread is SO long?

I suspect the people that are asking about him are people that do not live in the DC area.

I live in the DC area and also grew up here and I've never heard of him. I also don't understand why the thread so long – I still don't really understand what it is. Some guy getting divorced?

Because he has millions of listeners that like fake radio, that is why the thread is long.
Let me guess, you had no idea Donnie Simpson comes back to the radio today either, right?

That's correct. Who listens to these douchey local radio guys, anyway?

I live in the DC area and I grew up here. I have no idea who Kane OR Donnie Simpson are.

(What type of radio show do they have? What type of music? Maybe it's not a genre I listen to. (?) Maybe I am not their demographic, I don't know! I am 42, white, live in NoVA with 2 kids. As I said, I also grew up here - NoVA.)

So he's one of those obnoxious morning show guys that have a sidekick and make jokes?

Why does anyone care that he's divorcing?

I imagine the listeners as gum smackers with press-on nails who drive everywhere and take cruise ship vacations 3 times a year.

I imagine it's 18 - 25yr olds. Pretty much the same targeted audience that Cosmo reaches out to bc the few times I did listen to Kane it was like they were reading the cover stories from a Cosmo magazine. Lame.

Top 40 music like this from Billboard (http://www.billboard.com/charts/hot-100), which multiple radio stations use the same format in this area. Your kids probably listen to some of that type of music.

LOL, my kids are 7 and 3, so they only listen to kiddie CDs. And if I have the radio on when they are in the car, it's classical or WTOP. If I am without them, I listen to 97.1. Now you know why I have no clue who Kane or Donnie Simpson are!

it amazes me that some people can totally keep their heads in the sand. even if you don't listen to adult contemporary/r&b and you're from this area you should've at least met a black person who knows who donnie simpson is. local radio dj in this area for a most of the 80s/90s. left 93.9 five years ago and is now back on the air at 102.3.

i don't know much about or like that kane show crap but i know who he is/what he's known for.

Donnie Simpson went to some of the TV stations in the area for the past few weeks, including today, since his return to the airwaves was announced earlier this month.

97.1 plays some of what is on the billboard chart. Just wait, in a few years, your kids will be listening to top 40 music.

I was laughing at this the other day. Presidential elections, 4 pages. Global warming, 0 pages. Some radio dude divorcing: 160 pages. Way to go, humanity!
