Women: when did men stop noticing you?

Anonymous
Uh oh. I'm 36. It's either a flood or a drought. It's a drought now, but I'm ten pounds heavier than usual. I was fine with the lack of attention but if it's permanent I'll be so depressed.

I think part of the reason it's a lot less is because when I leave home, it's either for work or kid stuff, and re: the latter I'm sometimes with my husband. Rarely go to any bars etc. these days.

One think I've noticed is that men that have hit on me since college have always been like 10 yrs older; sometimes more. One dude started chatting with me a couple weeks ago--while I was with my toddler--the guy had to be at least 50. Men are pigs. [/quote]

LOL Your post just reminded me: Recently, while heavily pregnant, I did get hit on in the grocery storeby a man with his 2 (maybe 3) boys in tow.

Men are pigs.

i'm 31. still get noticed but not as much as i used to, especially now that i have a baby (not that having a baby is necessarily a turn off for guys just that since i had a baby I don't look as good as I used to). and the men who seem to notice me now are mostly middle aged and not that attractive themselves haha

I'm 27, but I constantly get mistaken for being in high school and middle school.

I would say I get hit on most by guys who are in their late 30s through 40s

Men are indeed pigs

Yes. My weight is all around the middle. I'm only 10lbs above my ideal weight, but becoming a mom has been hard on my shape.

Also probably the bags under my eyes. Gotta pay more attention to that.

34 and still slim. I get noticed when out alone. When I'm with my two small kids I'm pretty much invisible.

I'm a PP who posted above about only caring about what DH thinks. I suppose that I do care what others think (I dress professionally and carefully for work, for example, because I want to be taken seriously and respected), but I'm way past the point of caring whether men other than my husband find me physically attractive. That's what I mean, not "I'm a slob with no self-respect and can't be bothered to change out of my pjs in the morning".

I'm 32 with a 2 year old and I'm completely invisible. I am in very good shape. Back in my 20s I would get stopped on the street by men. I was being borderline stalked by 2 men at one point. I don't mind it but sometimes think back about my glory days wistfully! Of course I had no idea at the time.

Do you think it is because you have a child with you? Or weight gain / ageing?

I don't know! I feel insibke lately.

Also I cut my hair short and gained weight in my middle. Apparently that's a turn off for men. Apparently men are most attracted to women 16-25.

I am thin (5'2'', 105lbs) but my face has aged. Not hugely but somewhat. I look early 30s though, not 17 like most DCUMers!

Just turned 50. They stopped noticing me when I was around 47.

39. They don't notice me anymore. I'm totally fine with that (even though I'm divorced). I've never been particularly thin but I'm blonde and got a lot of attention from non white guys. I think all was well until I started to get jowls underneath my mouth. Affects attractiveness. Could have it fixed but no $$ and seems like my peers are all getting botox, etc, I'm not and it's obvious.

Huh, despite not caring much about my appearance and not wearing revealing clothes at all, I still get hit on. Maybe because I smile a lot and have a pretty happy personality.

(The "she must have a great personality" stereotype, I guess!?)
