Infertility Support and Discussion

Poor experience at GIVF in 2001 - 02. Good experience at Columbia Fertility in 2002 - 04.
I was on IUI protocols. A lot of what influenced my experience was the nursing staff. Too many long waits, no personal connections at GIVF. Very responsive nurse (since retired) at Columbia. Hated the doctors at GIVF. Arrogant. |
| Great experience at Dominion Fertility and I delivered my DD two wks ago and she is amazing! Dr. Gordon and Dr. DiMattina gave me a chance when others told me DE was the only option. They are my heroes and this is the best Christmas ever, God Bless them. |
hi. i am one of these who went in for a consult and have posted NASTY things about this horrible person. you know why i only went in for a consult and have such a strong opinion? because i left his office in tears ready to throw in the towel. he acted arrogant and refused to answer my questions. i was so upset after this appointment my husband called him the next day to ask him WTF happened. he lied to my husband and said that i was crazy and it was not his problem. i literally was ready to quit all together trying to have children after meeting this dick head....
now you REALLY think i should have gone to him anyway? or his partner with the risk of running in to this bastard again? please - after 2 years of trying and $65K out of pocket already spent on treatments, i REFUSE to waste my time and money with an asshole like this - i trust my instincts and also refuse to be treated like shit in an INITIAL consult. why can't you understand this? good for all of you who are in love with that practice and dr. d-bag. good for you and i am happy you have beautfiul children to show for it. but i will for as long as there is anything mentioned about that practice on this or any other forum will continue to tell people my experience. we finally went to sg (dr. greenhouse) and am 10 weeks with twins, our first try w/ SGFC. GO SGFC. wish i would have started there 2 years ago. |
Ironic that you would post this, asking how women could cheerlead Dominion after hearing about your treatment there. Yet, several of us have posted complaints about SGFC, and here you are cheering them on. This reeks of hypocrisy. |
| Look, everyone is posting based on their own unique experience. If a clinic gets you pregnant, you're probably going to rave about them. I have a friend who LOVES Domion and Dr D, but she got pregnant after 1 IVF cycle there (she's under 30 and they had male factor). I HATED Dr D and loved Shady Grove. Bottom line is that you should have initial consults at several clinics before deciding plus do additional research (does the doctor publish in medical journals? deliver papers at conferences? how long has she/he been practicing? where did s/he go to med school and do a residency, etc) |

| screw you bitch - you can go to hell. and i am not bashing others who had experiences - i am bashing dr. dimattina. don't you get it idiot?!? |
Not PP, but why are you rising to the bait? By using profanities and insults you only seem to be proving someones points. Just ignore them, and they will troll elsewhere. |
|
You are nuts, I hated Shady Grove and didn't have success at Dominion either but I don't blame the doctors at either place. I have moved on to Cornell and most likely it won't happen there either but they have given me a chance. You all need to put your hormones in check before blaming the doctors! I think they all want their patients to be successful, if for no other reason their their own egos, but putting blame and anger in their direction is not helping our cause. Think before your post

| I think that poster might be the same one on the twin thread who kind of snarked on the mom of a SIDS twin. Some people crack under the hormones, I guess. |
| poster: 9:05 you need some psych help, if Dr DiMattina showed you the door then he was probably helping the world by not helping you reproduce. You are proof that some people are probably not supposed to carry on their crazy genes. |

Np here- thats not right PP- I know when I was in the thick of it- GIVF constant screw ups- I was very passionate about how terrible it was- it's been 3 years for me now and i am not posting while being one hormonal treatments so I can be not so MAD- but I was enough then to get a letter to the president of GIVF- they backed off on fees to I think excuse their lack of proper treatment (my complaint)
Anyway- Just remember when you were TTC and so passonate/upset vs now those who it's more distant.. how was your DH treading when you were hormonal? It;s just magnified.. |
I understand what you are saying -but that poster was going on and on about one brief consult. If she were actually a patient of Dr. D. stating her complaints, I would understand. But to be so outraged so long after the fact over a single consult?? I am with some of these other posters who thinks this woman sounds a little off. I've been through the infertility mill, had my fair share of excellent service and poor service. Initial consults are set up with the idea of seeing if you mesh with a potential provider. If not, move on, get over it, and find the doctor who is right for you. That's what adults do. |
