We received an offer from AT late last week, our waitlist number was previously in the teens. We saw no movement prior to the offer.

Same with us, but at Seaton. I saw no waitlist movement but I just received a call from Seaton asking if we were still interested. She then rushed me off of the phone because she said she now sees that my child is enrolled somewhere. I was trying to explain that we had to enroll last week or lose space. I am going to call back and hope I get someone who can understand me....me were having some difficulties because of language.

I had this challenge last year as well with Seaton. Basically a "if you aren't sure, we can't give you time to decide'

Do you mean that the Seaton registrar (or whoever called you) was unfamiliar with the terminology of the lottery, or that she couldn't speak English? Either way, I hope they haven't passed you by before you can get things fixed, if you want to go there.

I think MySchoolDC should do a better job setting expectations so everyone doesn't think they're going to get calls on May 1. The reality is that the calls go out slowly--one by one, with time given for people to respond (even if just a day or two, think about how long this process takes). You will be getting waitlist calls in July and August and into September. You can call the registrar to check on progress (i.e. we were number 27, what number are we now?) but I wouldn't do that more than once a week, if even that. And be nice about it! Remember, if you end up getting into the school, you're going to be seeing the front office staff every day! It is a crazy frustrating process but it's not their fault!

Yes...it seemed to be a mixture of both. She said that we ae now #1 on the waitlist and seemed to be searching for the words to ask if I wanted to register. I then asked how many days do I have to accept their offer and she did not answer. She said "oh, I see that you enrolled in a charter school" and then said okay thank you. I abrubtly interrupted her and asked whether or not she was offering us a space and we got nowhere.

PP, here...and I realize that you cannot enroll in more than one school, but I at least want the opportunity to understand if we are being offered a spot and how long I have to consider.

It was shortly after the round 2 results, so I received 3 offers that one day. I chose another school.

Seaton parent here. Sounds like a miscommunication. Do you plan to accept the spot? If so, call back and ask to speak to Ms. Daisy. She does speak Spanish so it's possible that she misunderstood you. She is very nice though so just explain to her what the situation is. If you are still having a hard time communicating, I would email Ms. Jackson (principal). Goodluck!

Oh good...I'm glad it worked out for you.

FYI: We have received offers from Ludlow Taylor and JO Wilson. This is for PK4.
Anonymous
What was your waitlist number for Ludlow-Taylor for PK4? AND did you accept?
Anonymous
#78 on the waitlist for Capitol Hill Montessori but was accepted into Kipp Leap...sigh, haven't registered her at Kipp, the neighborhood concerns me a little.

Those mountains of forms shouldn't take more than 10 minutes.
