At what income do you not have a cleaning lady?

160K, we have a cleaning lady, every two weeks. Got one when I realized I was hiring a babysitter for my kid so that I could have the time to clean the house… would rather play the cleaner and play with the kids. I do worry that kids will have a sense of entitlement and will never know how to clean themselves. We have been planning to have regular cleaning sessions avery couple of weeks to teach them how to take care of the house, but of course it has not happened.

I'd probably be divorced if we didn't have one. We have them come every 2 weeks. I could see dropping to monthly once the kids are older (mine are 4 and 2 right now). We got them when I was 9months pg with #1 because I just physically couldn't do anything at that point, and we keep them because it smooths things out at our house. Dh is a neater person than I, so they make him happy

I can't imagine having a stranger clean my house. I just can't. Plus if one did, I would need to inspect their house first because I am super clean. I don't know anyone that cleans daily like I do. It's truly a sickness.

HHI 260k with two kids in daycare. We have someone who comes bi-weekly. I could spend $200 per month on worse things. I would love to pay someone to do laundry, even if just the bed linens and towels. Not sure where to look and what the rate would be.

We make $90 and hire a cleaning crew three times a year.

Why not a cleaning man? I'd like one of those.

HHI 300K. SAHM with HS aged kids (3). I have 2 person team come twice a week. 16 man-hours total. I also work alongside them - so 24 man-hours total. They charge hourly and will do any household task you give them - cleaning, laundry, deep cleaning, decluttering, food prep, organizing, recycling, picking up laundry, grocery etc.

I can get a lot accomplished with them and they keep me sane. I pay $200 a week for them. Worth every penny! We live extremely frugally except for this one luxury. If I did not have them I would have been spending money on therapy or a divorce lawyer!

Ask the person who does your cleaning now how much it would be?

Our cleaning person does the bed linen laundry. I have to say part of the value of a cleaning person is that they change the sheets on the kids' bunkbed.

We have a 300 HHI but have had someone help with cleaning since before DH and I moved in together and I/we were making significantly less. I am convinced it has been a marriage saver. We still make our children clean, it is not as if we do nothing in the two week interim. I dream of having someone come twice a week, now that would be a luxury.

Oh my god, after reading this thread I realized I'm paying y cleaning ladies double what everyone else is. For doing nothing but a superficial clean!!!

400k, no cleaning lady. We can handle the amount of cleaning we have.

300k. Never had a cleaning lady. Love the idea, but hate having strangers in my house.

We have had a cleaning lady for about 20 years. The same one. Every other week. Our HHI is now ~$180k. Love it.

I do not know of a single person that has a cleaning lady, and that includes my parents who are in their 60's.

150 k. No household help. If we didn't spend a fortune on therapy for one of our children, then we might be able to swing cleaning help.
