What is for dinner tonight? I need ideas.

Tonight: homemade steamed turkey gyoza and a Carrot salad with peanut dressing
Tomorrow: chicken soup

Tomorrow probably rotisserie chicken bought yesterday, with bread and a simple veg. Another day this week we will have kale, white bean and chicken soup made with leftover chicken. Maybe throw some smoked sausage in that too.

This sounds awesome! I'm definitely going to try copying that hash (don't suppose you have a recipe?)

For me this week (family of 4):
Tonight - leftover pot roast, acorn squash with cinnamon and maple syrup, roasted kale, sliced veggies
Tomorrow - pork chops breaded with lemon zest and fresh thyme, roasted potatoes, broccoli, salad
Wed - homemade pizzas with Italian sausage and spinach, salad
Thurs - burgers, kale slaw, broccoli
Fri - don't know yet, but probably a mishmash of whatever we have left over at that point

Oooh, can you share the slow-cooker pumpkin soup recipe?

Chicken pot pie!!! Thank goodness I made two, because the first one was demolished silently and efficiently at dinner.

Why? Taste-wise or... what?

Taste wise-- they just taste totally different than the yellow, red and orange. The list of things I won't eat is short, so its not that I'm a picky eater: green bell peppers, coconut.

What I meant to cook tonight - steak with bell pepper and tomato on top with soy sauce and sesame seeds and mashed potatoes on side. Ended up at Cafe Rio for enchiladas and rice beans. Will do steak later in week.

Other nights this week:
Trader joes Goya and fried rice with egg and cabbage on side
Ravioli with pesto sauce
Scrambled eggs with fruit and sausage

Simple does it at my house

It's more of a guideline, but basically cube two sweet potatoes and cook with shredded brussels sprouts, diced onions, and whatever meat you have on hand. Season with garlic powder, smoked Paprika or regular if you don't have smoked, a tiny dash of chipotle chili powder, and when it's almost done add about a tablespoon of maple syrup with a little bit of water so things don't burn and stick. Salt and pepper of course, to taste. Amazing topped with an egg over easy and paired with toast. Hope you like it!

Monday: Chola, rice and kale salad
Tues: veggie chili and corn bread
Wed: pizza and salad
Thurs: chapati, some subjis (don't know what yet), dal
Friday: pasta w/ veggies, garlic bread and side of broccoli

What is chola? When I googled I got this :
cho·la
?CH?l?/
noun
a Latin American woman or girl with Indian blood; a mestiza.
"a couple of chola girls"

Chhola or chhole is chickpeas in Hindi.

This is making me crave Ravi Kabob's chick pea dish. I will have to google a recipe and try to make my own.

Good luck! I've been married to an Indian for 10 years and never had any chola as good as Ravi's!
