If that's the case, he should remove the Political forum as well. IMO, some of the elitist, racist and sexist stuff you see there and in Off-Topic is FAR more offensive to me than the stuff in the Explicit Forum. |
|
Some of it's gross and pretty out there, but I think most people on the explicit forum are probably pretty normal people - just like all the other forums have some pretty nasty, rude people but most posters are normal and nice enough, sometimes even helpful.
We all hope to have a happy marriage and happy family. Sex is a part of that and if I need some advice on that aspect of my marriage, an anonymous forum is the perfect venue for it, but I don't want to post those any detailed discussion of sex in the regular forums - people may be at work, looking at a computer with kids looking over their shoulder, etc. I think the forum serves a useful purpose, even if it gets misused a lot of the time - again, just like the rest of this site. |
| I'm pretty sure the explicit stuff is segregated primarily because of advertising rules, and only partly because it might offend your delicate sensibilities. |
| Why? Do they have cooties? |
I'm not the OP and I'm NOT particularly delicate. That said, that isn't regular explicit stuff. It definitely borders on fetishes and perversion. I agree it's weird to be a part of this site. |
| I'm pretty sure we all think about sex, OP. It's not just the people on the Explicit Forum. |
Exactly, I find that the explicit forum has more down to earth and gentle people compared to the other forums. People there aren't mean spirited and nasty. It's probably the only forum on DCUM where the majority of the people are nice. |
It's 5 or 6 of the same people posting in that forum. They're normal average everyday people just like everybody else on DCUM but when they're bored at work and looking for something to talk about the conversation isn't limited to baby rashes and irritations with the new neighbors.

Let me get this straight.
A Sex forum that people have to intentionally seek out is bad. Forums on other topics where certain SES groups, races and religions are routinely put down are acceptable. You know I once took a hiatus from DCUM (no big loss to DCUM). It was not because of the stuff in the explicit forum. It was because of offensive stuff in Off-Topic. We can talk about "family-friendly" all we want and I think this site is whatever you want it to be based on the forums that you choose. It is your choice what content to partake in. And that is why I like the site and why I started using it again. I can honestly say that I have gone into the Explicit forum 4-5 times since I started visiting DCUM. Frankly, it's mere presence does not bother me because I am not forced to click into it. |
I'll have to disagree with the 'nicer' part. Yes, there's less judging in Explicit but it seems whenever I post something in reply to a post about someone cheating, I'm a 'prude,' 'judgmental,' 'uptight,' etc.......like are you fucking kidding me?? And some even say that because it's Explicit, everyone should be fine with anything. Um no. I'm VERY open minded when it comes to sex but I have a right to disagree with the cheaters on there just as much as anyone else posting. |
This. And I've posted there as well. Many threads are very explicit, but some are tame but too explicit for the relationship forum. |
ITA. Half the posts in Off Topic seem to be about judging if something is low class/trashy/blah blah blah. |
It helped me find out my DH cheated. First time I heard about 'Ashley Madison'. Bingo. Never in a million years and 18 years of marriage (good one) did I see that coming. Now I read it--but more the non-explicit/anti-cheating site. I go to the whore one solely as a resource and occasionally to cent at women that brag about banging married guys !!

I hear you, but that is the case in EVERY other forum here if you disagree with someone. LOL |
Do you know anyone who has cheated? How do you show your disapproval? |
