I HATED this book. I couldn't understand why it was popular. I tossed it in the recycling when I was done. I didn't even want to donate it b/c I thought it was junk.

+1.
Tried hard, but couldn't finish it.

Glass Castle.

I picked it up based on so many favorable comments on DCUM and was so disappointed in the end. There were small parts that were compelling It is supposed to be a memoir, but I couldn't shake the feeling that the whole thing was a self-absorbed lie.

I thought it was OK. But I HATED the second book in this trilogy. Any time the author resorts to giant albino thugs (I'm looking at you, Dan Brown, too), you know they've run out of other ideas.

I thought this book was excellent and so much of it reminded me of my childhood. Thank your lucky stars that you cannot imagine it being a memoir.

Eat, Love, Pray was overhyped.

To me it seemed trying too hard to be trendy and "transgressive" (hate that term, but reviewers and authors love to apply it to books). I'm super liberal, so it wasn't the subject matter, which I'm fine with.
