| I would do almost anything not to have to live in VA for four years. |
| Penn State seems to be an enigma. It is ranked very high in USNW relatively to many schools that are materially more selective, eg, Tulane or even Pitt It is no where near as a elective as the schools near which it is ranked. It is in a not particularly nice or stimulating town in the middle of nowhere. Yet it seems to be quite popular and has a rabid following. Seems like a good choice for some. |
Exactly. |
Powerful alumni networks count for a lot. And Penn State has a very strong network that reaches deep into NYC and Philly. |
LOL! |

Listen to the This American Life episode about the party culture at Penn State.

What is so funny? There are numerous fields of study for investment and profit. This is merely one of them. And no, I didn't major in husbandry. |
Why do some think that fraternities and sororities are lying in wait to drag students kicking and screaming into the lifestyle? I would hope that the smart person would seek the things that a university has to offer to meet ones needs academically and, if wanted, socially. |
That's a lot better than being known for Penn State disgrace for lockerroom rapes! |
Vegetarians are outnumbered by meat eaters. Those kids will be laughing all the way to the bank. |
That's fine with us. Please do not come here, there are way too many people moving into NoVa. There are tons of new people looking to buy homes in Fairfax County. We have the jobs and great schools. It's your loss and someone else's gain. |

| ^14:04, it's not funny. Your attempt at humor in this instance is a total failure. Nothing amusing about blowing kids away or raping children. Both schools have much to offer and some good natured teasing and rivalry is cool. But your post just downright stinks. |

| Too many kids being killed in VA Tech. Sorry... |
