Downton 2/24

My DH almost had the big one as I jumped up and down squealing "Mrs. Hughes and Mr. Carson," "Mrs. Hughes and Mrs. Carson" as the two walked into the water hand-in-hand. That scene was the best ever. Now if only they do get a little "risque" together.

My husband was half watching form the kitchen when Carson and Mrs. Hughes waded into the ocean and he teased me, "So you think Carson is gonna hit it with Mrs. Hughes in the ocean like Juan Pablo did on the Bachelor?"

Perhaps Thomas will out Baxter as a ruined woman and Moseley won't care, a la Mary and Matthew.

Moseley: from Zero to Hero in two episodes!

It didn't appear to me that the Earl knew that Bates was the forger. So among other things Bates is a forger and pickpocket.

And we saw Bates' forgery skills at the beginning of the season, when he forged Molesley's signature on a fake IOU so Bates could give him some money without Molesley losing face. I find Bates kind of interesting because his misdeeds are very much a "means justify the ends" approach, and otherwise he's a good guy, but with a dark side.

I wonder if Mr. Greene stumbled into the street after ingesting a lick of rat poisoning. Hmmm, and also wonder what Bates thought he may have left in his coat pocket. He sure seems cautious of Mrs. Hughes and Mary now.

Well, Grantham did indicate that he's no stranger to homosexuality...

Wasn't Grantham referring to his prep school days?

Yes. Joke.

It was splendid. My favorite moment -- among many --

Lord G to Lady G: I do wish Tom had come.
Lady G: It's so nice to hear you say that!
Lord G: He's bringing Isis and I've missed her.

I liked Daisy's retort, "I don't get excited."

Oh God yes. She is the most annoying character ever. I hate how everything she says sounds like a question.

Totally off topic, but my boss speaks that way and it drives me INSANE.

loved the show. Every aspect of it.

Those in charge of "guy cards" have called to revoke your husband's.

No one's remarked on the excellent banter between Violet and Mrs. Levinson. I loved seeing the Dowager Countess get told off. Also great development with Mrs. Crawley. I really like her character.

The queen of Naples was a stalwart character-- I take that as a compliment.

You take everything as a compliment

Yes, you should try it--it avoids much awkwardness.

Loved the episode.

Lady Grantham to Tom on their way to the dance floor: "I know I can trust you to steer."

The teacher is way too obnoxious for our sweet Tom. He needs an Irish woman with lots of moxie.

I like to watch Moseley bloom under Baxter's attention.

The subplot with the letter was stupid but shut up Mary about Bates.

If I were Tony Gillingham or Charles Blake, I would tell Mary (the total c**k teaser) to stuff it
