What are your childcare costs, age of kids and number of kids and HHI

HHI $240k

1 kid in full time daycare, ~$1500 a month

We have another on the way, so starting in November we'll have 2 in daycare and be paying around $3000 a month.

$26k/yr for full-time montessori preschool for 3 year old.

$28k/yr for infant care at same school for 5 mo old.

HHI: $280K. We prepay tuition for the year (save 2.5%) so we don't feel it every month.

That's a lot of money, I didn't realize preschool charged 2100-2300 a month.

The school we are doing costs an arm and a leg, so I wouldn't say this is typical. We do it because it is close to our home (so good logistics) and is a true preschool (with trained/educated teachers) that has an aftercare component.

I think we send our 3 year old to the same preschool. And are not excited that there is no second child discount.

Different poster, but in our case, the school is full-time, year-round with aftercare. So the tuition, while eye-popping, is actually quite a bit less than we were paying a nanny. (unless/until we have a second child, anyway).

Where do you live?

Yes, but there's sort of no point in making complaints at this school, KWIM?

I believe they actually did secretly give a discount to that family that has had FIVE kids there, so there's always that strategy.

Au Pair - about $29k (but I've never really added it up)
Part time preschool - $5,100
HHI - $210k
Kids are 1 and 3

Surprised by the au pair number. When I looked into it, it seemed to work out to around 19K a year.
