Thanks for posting this link! Good for katie for questioning and pointing out the fact that this interview might not even be a good idea!

Jon was on Wendy Williams the other day. He actually seems like a decent guy. Still somewhat media-whore-y, but FAR less so than than Kate.

2) give a summary of the story

The twins were suppose to talk about how they are still normal and okay. Then when it was time to talk, they would speak. That's the story.

Fail, asshole pp.

They supposedly wanted to be on to tell their story. Then they just sat there silent. It was so awkward. Poor Sacannah was like, ummmm..

And after watching the full segment, I agree both girls were nervous and the one on the left especially nervous.

This is reminding me that Octomom was recently in the news, too.

I do wonder how one supports a house full of children on one income.

Heh. He's the socially awkward one.

My sense of him is that he is a typical man-child of his demographic who planned on a normal life of 2 kids and a dog, a 9-5 job and then video games and pizza, and then his life became a Kate-driven runaway train. He is a loser, just a different kind of loser than Kate. Guess that's why their marriage didn't work out.

I would agree with this assessment

How much is she making doing her coupon blogging? did they lose the million+ home?

I hope those kids wind up OK, but I have zero pity for their parents.

She got fired (fairly publicly) from the coupon blogging. PR disaster for Kate! Ha. Yes, she still has the house.

To the PP they see their father either every weekend or every other and one night during the week.

I'm sad that I know all this.

Oh, and I agree with the assessment of Jon as a man-child who signed on for a normal life of 2 kids, a dog, pizza, etc., and, while he has his faults, he does seem like the better parent.

oh, why did she get fired (and, why do I care?)

Eat your heart out, Kris Jenner.

In their book, it seems like Jon was happy with just having the twins, and even on the early episodes of the show, he talks about how everything was great with two kids, the world is built for families of four, etc. But Kate kept pushing and wanted more, and even tried to bully him into adopting a baby that had been born in the hospital where she worked (the baby was Korean-American and the mom was still considering adoption, I think). But doing the fertility and having the sextuplets was allllllll Kate.

I wonder if they might have stayed together and had that typical American life if they had stopped at two kids. Certainly no TV show and fake celebrity status, but the twins would be far better off. Both parents suck, but Jon seems to suck less and is capable of reforming.

I'm the PP that you quoted, and I agree with everything you wrote. Kate seemed to have bullied him into just one more, which of course turned into six more. I also wonder if they'd still be together and had that typical life, if they'd only had the twins.

isn't Kate a nurse? I was a nurse for years and if I was willing to put in the hours I could make 80-90k...wouldnt it be better to let the TV money grow (keep it for college) and just live on a "real" salary from a real profession. I just think it would be better for her kids to see her working a normal job and would lead to a more quite life.

Heh, now I can see it. TMZ, blocked at work. NBC, nope!

Kate is her typical self. Maybe Mady would have actually talked, but I was totally reading it like they had some big argument backstage or Kate was trying to tell them what to say, and when Mady took a moment to get her words together, Kate interrupted and it was over for Mady. I'm seeing two girls who are not thrilled to be there but somewhat willing to talk, and a mother who won't shut up and let the interviewer do her job. She keeps jumping in and explaining their behavior instead of just letting them own it and respond to the interviewer.

For example, the interviewed switches to Cara, who gives her mom an awesome eyeroll, and Kate immediately jumps in, tell Mady to "translate" and starts asking Mady questions abotu what Cara is thinking! Um, hello Kate, shut up for a second, you should know how interviews work by now!

And good thing Kate got that dig in about their dad. I'm sure they appreciate that!

The dad had an interview on the Wendy Williams show. He is the only normal one and was sued by TLC because he wanted his kids off the show.

I tend to agree with this. He lost a shit ton of money getting out of the show, and trying to get his kids out. It cost him a lot of money, but it was for good reason. People mock him for resorting to waiting tables, but I think that's way more honorable than dragging your kids to TV interviews like Kate. Once she got bit by the fame bug, it sucked out all her values.

I know she is supposed to verify information before signing her name but I am wondering if there was some sort of miscommunication with her accountant and that's how the additional income wasn't reported. Not sure if throwing her into the slammer would be good for her 14 kids. They would probably be divided up and put into foster care until she gets out of jail.
