In their book, it seems like Jon was happy with just having the twins, and even on the early episodes of the show, he talks about how everything was great with two kids, the world is built for families of four, etc.  But Kate kept pushing and wanted more, and even tried to bully him into adopting a baby that had been born in the hospital where she worked (the baby was Korean-American and the mom was still considering adoption, I think).  But doing the fertility and having the sextuplets was allllllll Kate.

I wonder if they might have stayed together and had that typical American life if they had stopped at two kids.  Certainly no TV show and fake celebrity status, but the twins would be far better off.  Both parents suck, but Jon seems to suck less and is capable of reforming.[/quote]
