Why won't she just go away?

I know, I'm terrible. But it's like watching a car wreck -- hard to not gawk.

I love seeing her. It reminds me constantly how relieved I am she is back in the tundra.

I also like to think of all the shitty and inflammatory crap she said on the campaign trail and then consider the image of her on a slab of ice watching Greta Van Susteren and Todd speed away on a snowmobile--uh, sorry Todd, "snow machine." It's actually delightful.

At the opthalmologist's office the other day, there was a huge cardboard cutout of Sarah Palin holding little Trig--they were advertising that they carry her line of eyeglass frames! She's more of a star than we realize...

Really? I would have taken my business to another eye doctor--immediately.

When you have diabetic retinopathy, you hardly want to leave a gifted retinal specialist (who also happens to be a woman!) due to an advertising gimmick.

Really? Are we at the beginning of an American Apartheid, only now based on political party affiliation, or 'perceived' political party affiliation? Why is the reaction so extreme?

I'd prefer to have sex with Bill Clinton.

I love Sarah Palin, now that she's been sent back to Alaska. She's fun, she's ignorant, she's spunky, she wears terrible shoes, the fundies love her. She called McCain's people "jerks" in the NYT. I can't get enough of her. I'm sorry we won't see any more Tina Fey impersonations or listen to that grating nasal accent. She'll be gone in a few minutes. Enjoy the show while it lasts, and hope she sticks both feet so far down her throat she can't even burble--she's even more amusing gagged!

Have to say, I think she is full of it, but when I saw the video where she called the anonymous McCain advisors who were dissing her "jerks," I felt a sudden affection for her. I wish she were more competent, more liberal, and still that plain-spoken! But I suppose if she becomes more "competent" at being a national-level politician, she'll learn not to call people "jerks" in public, regardless of her politics.

Oh, my God. You think that's extreme? You should try listening to some of her speeches on the 'ol campaign trail. There's nothing "perceived" about her party affiliation, nothing "perceived" about her intent to resort exclusively to personal attacks when it came to her opponents.

New American Apartheid? No, sweetie, that's what we've *avoided* by sending her brand of extremism packing. The election was a wholesale rejection of everything she stands for. And if you've been paying the least bit of attention, Obama has been able to put party affiliation aside more then any Republican or Democrat most people have observed. And that's his stated intent. The opposite? A candidate who refused to share a stage at a campaign rally with one politician who was pro-choice and another because he was against drilling in Alaska. Yes, she balked at even sharing a stage with people who disagreed with her. She sure has the qualities we needed right now in a leader, huh? That ability to get past "party affiliation"?

Book deal in the works for her. Karen Tumulty of Time reports literary agents are lining up to snag her in a deal that could earn her as much as $7 million. 91% of Republicans have a favorable view of her, according to the new Rasmussen poll. She's not going anywhere, folks.

And isn't it endlessly fascinating how the DCUM posters just keep this thread front and center?
