Can anyone vouch for Bare Minerals? Saw the infomercial at 3 am while nursing, and it made the women's skin look fantastic.

Yeah I posted about them before. I love BE so much. I have adult acne and really oily skin. This is the only thing I've ever found that wont leave my face lookin like the wreck of the Valdez by noon. Get the starter kit; you can find it at Target or they have the full line at Sephora. If you need a concealer pick up one of the bisques. I have dark skin so I use the honey bisque. Qvc carries them as well and if you couldnt bring yourself to shop there, you can at least check out the video demos.

I never thought I'd go for something like that, but now I am desperate to do it. She went from looking like a tired mom of three to looking like she got 10 hours of sleep a night and spent every day at a spa.

I am the poster that had restalyne injections with Dr. Fuchs. He did some botox on me too, all at the same session. I believe it is 500 for each syringe, and I think I needed three syringes. And then with the Botox it came close to 2K. I agree with what the PP has said -- the results are immediate and just overwhelming. I think you pay not just for the restalyne itself but for the doctor's skill & judgment, and Fuchs is really good.

It lasted about 5 months. I would love love love to be able to afford it on a regular basis, but I can't.

One word of caution: I wasn't kidding about the Percoset. This procedure is not for the faint of heart. There is no way I would have made it without 3 Percosets that he prescribed for me beforehand. It's pretty brutal. I did it on a Friday, because he said there would probably be some bruising that would go away over the weekend. I did have some bruising -- it took a little more than the weekend, but it was less than a week to be gone.

Anyone that can afford this should do it. And yes, I am very jealous.

For the PP interested in Bare Minerals. I got the starter kit at Ulta and it's not bad. One thing I don't like is there is all this powder and tapping off the excess powder and it makes a real mess. But I do like the result. You can use the foundation that comes in the starter kit as a concealer -- there is a concealer brush in the package. I haven't ventured into the eye powders but I have heard that bisque is nice.

Their marketing campaign is so huge that they are practically giving the stuff away. Anytime you're ordering on Sephora, put in 10DAY as a promo code and they will give you a decent sized foundation. I could make it last more than 10 days and have actually ordered them and consolidated them with what I already have. I'm very cheap.

This is the first Bare Minerals pp. Yeah it can be messy, but you really only need a very small amount. Also if you do it over the sink its not any messier than putting on eyeshadow. As far as concealer, yes you can get away with just using the foundation if your skin's not too bad to begin with. For myself, I have dark skin and awful black acne scars. Unfortunately for me the foundation alone didnt cut it, but once I started using the bisque its a very rare scar that I can't make disappear completely.

Does Dr. Fuchs use restylane to correct bags under the eyes? And does it work?

Anonymous wrote:this made a huge difference for my skin: a glycolic acid moisturizer. if I forget to use it for a few days, I can really tell the difference. it makes your skin look brighter/pinker and smoother and gets rid of the grey dead cells. (i'm 42).

I've tried a couple "dermatologist fancy" ones, but I swear the Olay regenerist one works just as well, and it's $20 instead of $85.

next up: botox in my crow's feet.

Which one of the Olay Regenerist's moisterizers has the glycolic in it? I'd love to give it a try.

I am in my 40s and did the CO2 fractional laser recently. It is a relatively new procedure, and much better than peels. It removed all of my skin damage and blotchy patches. And it stimulates collagen. It is wonderful. I no longer have to wear foundation. It is expensive though, but worth it.

what worked wonders for me (acne and wrinkles) is Mama Lotion. Two different acids. I use twice a week at night (make sure to wear serious SPF during day).

They came up with a new version I haven't tried yet. You can find it in many shops online.

How much does the CO2 procedure cost?

About $4000 -- Like I said, expensive.

Here is a video of the procedure. I didn't get my procedure done at this place but I found the video helpful. CO2 fractional shouldn't be confused with other lasers with similar names. This procedure is done in 1 appt, but you are out of pocket for a week

I just read about Botox as "preventive maintenance" in younger women....20's and early 30's. So I guess the idea is the wrinkles never have the chance to develop. I hadn't even thought of that, wow.

Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer ROCKS!!!

Yes it does. I also tried my sister's Smashbox tinted moisterizer and liked it, it seemed more lightweight and sheer. Which could be good or bad depending on how your skin is.

Does it work on acne scars? I would pay anything to get rid of them.
