I would love to hear current feedback regarding the pumps available from UH in Virginia. I have a seven week old daughter (my second child) and have been renting the medela hospital pump. While it has been great, it's not feasible for me to carry this back and forth to work each day. With my ds, I had issues early on with breastfeeding, and then issues keeping up my supply when I returned to work. Has anyone had a pump that has worked well for keeping up supply? Is there a pump available from UHC that is closer to a hospital grade pump? FWIW, I had a medela last time. TIA!javascript:emoticon(' ');

Yes! I would totally make them send me a pump anyway, even if I had broken down and bought my own. |
I got the Medela pump that was available from edge park last summer (assuming it's more or less the same one). It was good, but it was definitely not as nice as the Ameda hospital grade I'd been renting. The difference was small enough, though, that I think it would be worth it to me to save the money and the trouble of lugging the heavy hospital grade around and just use the insurance provided pump. The only way I could see continuing to rent the hospital grade is if I were EPing. |
Lucinacare is the most frustrating website I've ever used!!! I created a profile that won't let me change shipping address without it automatically changing the billing address. I try to fill out the form to use my insurance to buy a Lucinacare Melodi Breast Pump, but when I put my email address in the form, it sends a red message that will not let me continue my form because it says "user already active." It says this while I'm logged into my account trying to order. Also. on the first page where it states, "We want to make ordering your new breast pump as easy as possible. Start Here," it took me 30 minutes and over 5 tries at pressing that button to even get it to proceed to the form. Also, the message says at the bottom of the screen, if I have problems or questions, "call anytime." Yet, you are closed right now when I try to call. I will have to order a different product from some other vender. This website is far too messed up to even order from this it. I even tried putting the pump in my shopping cart and it keeps says "shopping cart empty." I've spent 3 hours on this awful website, and it was a total waste of my time! They need a better IT guy to design and run the website. I don't know how companies stay in business with this many issues with a website.?

I got my Medela through Aeroflow Breastpumps and it was SO, SO easy! My sister in law who I usually don't take advice from told me about them and I gave it a try. I can't rave about them enough. They did all of the legwork for me...called the insurance company, doctor, and got my pump out 30 days before birth (I have UHC). I had had enough trying to talk to my insurance company. Let them do it all for you! Here's the link if you want to check it out...happy pumping ladies!!

I have UHC and ordered online through Byrum 30 days before my due date. Pump arrived a couple weeks later. Super easy. This was in Octoberish.
I got a PISA, which I feel is less than stellar but have nothing to compare it to. |
I just got my Medela Pump in Style breast pump in the mail from Byram. Their process was super easy-- all I did was fill out a form and a week later they sent me the shipping information. I already have my pump and I'm not due until August. I definitely recommend them

+1 I had the same experience with Byram / UHC. A simple form to fill out online, at any time in your pregnancy. No need to call anyone or wait till your due date. |

I ordered the medela from edge park online and had it 2 days later. I ordered about 3 weeks before my due date. I called all 4 providers first which was frustrating.
I was told Byrom doesn't work with United. Target only has the ameda purely yours. Lucina care had brands with limited reviews. |
| I have Aetna health insurance and got mine from Byram. Customer service (life chat) at Byram was courteous and helpful. It was a fantastic experience. I called Byram and had the pump the next 10 days as they told me. I highly recommend it. |
