Teacher Photos Online

Whoa! Calm down! You can post naked pictures of yourself all day long. Just know it may come back to haunt you. You may want to reconsider working with children. Their parents and your employers may not be sympathetic to your need to show nude photos of yourself. GL with your choices!

Absolutely. And further, even if you did not consent to them being posted, since OP's original post says "erotic" it's pretty likely OP knew she was being photograhed. Whether she posted them herself or someone else did, with or without the consent, the bottom line is we're in the digital age and no one is really asking if you wanted the pics up or not after all your students have seen your amateur erotica (or pro erotica!) pics now. It can have actual, serious consequences whether you like it or not.

Me, as a parent, I'd let the school know because I do think it shows poor judgement to have your nudie pics online - especially if it was my CHILD who found them. And don't give me that "You're a terrible parent if you let your child look at nekkid pics" - of course I do NOT let my child look at nekkid pics (being careful about spelling because at work), but do none of you have middle or high schoolers? Are you kidding me, do you really think that if a teacher in their school was found to have those pics online that those wouldn't spread across the school in no time, maybe even get posted on some kids' facebook pages, and that your or my kid wouldn't see them?

So I don't know how OP found the pics, but in the cases I know of (and I do know 2 teachers who were found to have se xy pics online that students found and spread), everyone saw them. My kids even told me. It's a risk you take today if you take pics and epspecially if you post them online.

And if the school ignores it or doesn't care, fine, that's the school's choice. But I would still let the school know.

Whether the photos were posted by the teacher or someone else, you might consider telling the teacher you came across them and that they could be accessed by children. If she doesn't remove them, tell the school. Though not illegal, i think its Inappropriate for a teacher to have nude pics in the public domain. Seeing them could be VERY confusing to children of all ages. I am a teacher, by the way, and I make sure that when I'm anywhere in public I mind my p's and q's. we are role models.

If I had knowledge of a teacher in porn, I'd say something to the school. If its okay and no issue for our educators to be porn stars, I'm sure the school would tell me. I once had knowledge of a school teacher who was a drug addict (I work on addictions counseling). I secretly told the school. Guess I should have minded my business. Well, glad this stupid thread wasn't hear when that went down. Turns out the teacher was using at school and while high was seducing students. Not a big deal huh? I should get off my high horse, huh?

Leaping from one assumption to another, never pausing to use your brain. Genius, if you haven't seen the photos, how do you that they are porn? How do you know they're not topless photos on the beach that her boyfriend posted without her knowledge?

The fact that you automatically assume the worst says more about you than it does about her.

You're not such a genius yourself. The poster didn't say the teacher OP was referring to was in porn. It expressed what would be done if there was knowledge that a teacher in porn. Gosh, there must be a lot of teachers posting naked photos of themselves on this list-serve. Instead of acknowledging the poor judgment of that you guys are jumping on people who are advocates for kids. Not only is there an issue with quality schools in this city. Now everyone wants teachers to pose nude and do god knows what else in peace. How did this serve the welfare of kids?

Complete WHACK JOB you are!

You go from one extreme to the next.

Some people are thinking, RATIONAL adults.

In your mind, however, you're either an advocate for kids or proponent of teachers in porn.

Life is not so black and white, which is why few are commenting on the teacher's 'poor judgement'. We don't know all the details. (And apparently OP doesn't either.)

I hope all of you are just PERFECT sitting up there atop your high horses. PLEASE don't let nude pics of yourself be discovered. If they are, just imagine the finder immediately notifying your boss about them. Don't stop. Just go directly to the person's boss. Cause goodness knows anyone who allows a nude pic of themselves to be found lacks the judgement to hold any type of job.

^^What an extremely angry loose canon you are. Calm down! Don't take your poor judgment out on people here. You got caught doing porn on the internet and lost your job. Not our fault! I'm just glad you're no longer influencing children.

You have absolutely NO LOGIC whatsoever.

You must be THEE dumbest, most irrational WHACK JOB I've ever encountered online.

These LEAPS you make are insane.

Clearly you're unintelligent and lack good sense and comprehension.

Nothing in anyone's post anywhere in this thread stated that a person lost their job because of internet porn--or for any other reason.

You are SO DUMB I think you should just off yourself. You serve NO purpose to the living.

Isn't it brilliant when the jokes just write themselves? Nothing else to be said after the last post!

You'll do anything to steer attention away from your porn background, won't you? The whack job is you- someone so stupid they'd post porn of themselves online and then rant and rave on DCUM, while showing how unsophisticated you are. You're probably going to slit your wrists after you read this. What a high price for the satisfaction of putting pornographic images of yourself on the internet while teaching Pre-k. Next time, ask yourself. Is this really worth it.

I think it safe to assume that most of the posters on this board are parents of school aged children. And that these children are part of the digital native generation, who are growing up immersed in social media and likely have very easy access to a digital cameras. It is VERY likely some point in your child's life they are going to say or do something really stupid online. I just hope you will respond with more grace and understanding that this PP.

I don't know about the PP you're responding to, but I will pretty much respond EXACTLY as the PP above (i.e. "Good luck with that bad choice honey!"), but in the meantime way earlier I'll do my best to instill in my kids the understanding that actions have consequences, which must be considered every single time. Yes, kids will be kids, and do dumb stuff. But that fact doesn't change the fact that, indeed, if my kids do that and it gets online, forget the consequences later, how about now in the age of bullying and stalking in schools? It's a lose-lose at any age to post those kinds of pics, and while I will be concerned and probably lose much sleep if it happens with any of my kids, the attitude will be the same. Good luck with that, because it's probably about to be something you regret.

(But then of course I'll be supportive if they actually are traumatized by the consequences. However I will always be matter of fact about the fact that they should have known better.)

I know this will get me flamed, but I just can't offer an opinion either way without actually seeing the pictures. OP, please post a link.
