Opinions on WAMU reporters?

I have to change the channel when Memo Lyons (sp?) comes on. Like nails on a chalk board!

I hate when the obviously young reporter tries to do that punctuated news-voice thing and they just don't have the hang of it.

"and thennn the fellow bakers in the shop [hard stop] saluted the cake frosterrrrrrrr who had brought them so [voice pitch rises] farrrr in the competition [gentle fade]"

I was interviewed by one of their reporters and was missed quoted. No biggie, but my friends laughed and said "You used that word"

You can hear the dustiness through the echo.

Kavitha Cardoza has a lovely voice, but she knows it and That drives me crazy.

Slightly off subject-- Zoe Chases'svoice drives me INSANE. She need elocution classes ASAP.
Can't decide if I like Eleanor Beardsley. There's another chick -- maybe it's memo - she swallows her words.

I feel bad for Armando. He does such silly stories that on the rare occasions when he has an actual important news story, he sounds so damned thrilled!

What do folks think of Lakshmi Singh?

who is the reporter with the nasally voice?

Eleanor Beardsley always has to play second fiddle to Sylvia Pagoli forever open reporting

EB drives me insane, like literally climbing the wall with anxiety in hearing her voice. It is such a bizarre combination of Southern Belle slowness and an American/French accent. It makes me want to reach into my car radio and squeeze something really hard, and twist.

Michael Pope ends every segment with "I'M Michael Pope." I always picture him popping a blood vessel in his eye when he says it.

Oh my goodness, yes! I thought I was the only one who noticed this.

It appears I'm the outlier. Who knew WAMU was such an irritant to so many? I particularly enjoy Kavitha Cardoza's pieces. I think they are thoughtful and well produced. I also LOVE her voice. It's beautiful.

I will say Kojo Nnnnnamdi's show are often boring as hell, the topics are often weak, and his questions seem uninformed at times.

I find her questions pretty well-researched and insightful. Kojo can't hold a candle to her.

NP here. I find her completely biased yet she pretends she's objective. I really can't stand to listen to her show. I will turn on Top 40 to get away from it, and that's saying something because I really hate Top 40.

Zoe Chase is from Michigan, I think (or somewhere close by). She has a major regional accent.

I noticed it, too. Drives me insane.
