| PP, high by what %? |
| ... And what do you measure against? |
| 315 in 2003, now 400. Not stellar, but could be worse. |
| In Arlington: bought for 290k in 2000; added a 3-story addition in 2010. County is still assessing it as if it didn't have the addition (is it our responsibility to inform them? They issued all the permits so clearly know about the addition...) but similar houses in our neighborhood go for 700k+ |
| $628k in 6/2010, zillow says its worth $655k now. We'd love to do a second floor addition, but I'm not sure we'd get our money back. Falls Church. |
|
we have two properties:
TH bought in 2001 for 235,000 now worth 375,000 SFH bought in 2010 640,000 now worth 690,000 could be better but could definitely be worse! |
|
Condo in MD $115,000 - 1993; now $350,000
SFH $400,000 - 1997; now $1.3 million |
|
We bought our SFH for $390k in fall 2008.
Recently appraised for refinance at $490k. Falls Church part of Ffx County |

"Forever house" PP.
I can't believe that only 3 of us purchased in the 2005-2007 frame and our houses are worth less than we bought them for. Or is this just a self-selecting bunch who all have made profits on their homes. |
Yep. Paid $395K in 2005, would maybe get $330K for it now. |
|
friend $900K in Ashburn in 2006, maybe $650K now.
me, $940K in Vienna in 2006, maybe $930K now. |
I'm having a hard time believing some of these people who have made $100k in a year, but maybe only the big winners are posting. We bought close-in in 12/2008 for $420k and we could sell for around $450k. I'm fine with that, considering how scared I was to buy back then when prices were still falling. |
| Bought for $520k in 2006, tax-assessed for $380k and appraised for $440k for refinance in 2011. College Park. |
| $374k in 2004, probably close go $340k now, based on comps. We redid the kitchen and put in hard wood floors, so I've hopeful it's better than avg. oh, and our interior isn't fug, like some of our neighbors. |
| Cap Hill. $240K in early 2002. Around $600K now. Have put in about $35K in. |
