So Angry about the 47%

did your opportunity include school? Because your writing sure doesn't show it...

He's going to lose anyway. So there's no sense in driving yourself mad over his stupidity.

You are right to point out a philosophical divide, but you distort it. They both want people to have opportunity to get jobs and rise to success (That's apple pie and motherhood!) but Obama thinks the government should have a hand in helping that to happen, and Romney thinks the government should leave it to the marketplace.

It would be an interesting dialog if they approached it seriously. In fact, I think that if they could get past the politics, Republicans and Democrats in DC could study what actually works and adjust government programs so they helped more, wasted less, and inconvenienced fewer.

Nice illustration of the Strawman logical fallacy!

Yes, but that is not what Romney said. He said the 47% who don't pay federal income taxes don't take responsibility for themselves and he can't make them do that. Which of course, is stupid, because he is demeaning a lot of people who are actually planning to vote for him.

That's what I find so odd about Romney. It would be one thing if he really were talking about people who are dependent on government handouts and have never worked a day in their lives (that would be a *much* lower percentage than 47%) but he pulls this percentage out of the air and doesn't accurately characterize who these people are. That seems really dumb for someone with a Harvard degree.

As he ships them out of the country. I wish they would play that part of the tape wherein he talks about going to China to open a factory (jobs he is shipping over) and they have barb wire fence around the compound to keep the slave wage earners inside. Why are the news outlets not pushing that point of the tape.

To be fair, Harvard also gave a degree to Dubya. Family money and influence can buy you a prestigious degree. The rest of us have to, you know, work for it?

If you want to go to school, borrow it from your parents. If you want to start a business, go ask your parents. That's Romney's way.

It's the hypocrisy and ignorance that piss me off the most. Talk about throwing stones.
