Romney is rightbut this is a deep idealogical divide between romney and obama. Romney wants opportunity (ie jobs) to lift ppl out of poverty and reliance on the govt. obama wants to spread the wealth around and keep ppl from rising out of dependence on the govt by making them completely reliable on the govt. there are 2 schools of thought. I agree with Romney but to each his own.
You are right to point out a philosophical divide, but you distort it. They both want people to have opportunity to get jobs and rise to success (That's apple pie and motherhood!) but Obama thinks the government should have a hand in helping that to happen, and Romney thinks the government should leave it to the marketplace. It would be an interesting dialog if they approached it seriously. In fact, I think that if they could get past the politics, Republicans and Democrats in DC could study what actually works and adjust government programs so they helped more, wasted less, and inconvenienced fewer.
If you want to go to school, borrow it from your parents. If you want to start a business, go ask your parents. That's Romney's way.
