"You didn't build that". Love to hear the defense from one that built this site. |
I'm not going to spend 13 minutes watching a video. Can you give an example of a lie or not?
|
So many lies that 13 minutes was needed |
If you like your insurance you can keep it. We're going to cut the defict in half. |
Transparency on healthcare reform debates, they would be on cspan
Prosecuted more whistle blowers than any other administration |
Are you honestly unaware that that quote is completely out of context? You can not possibly be clueless, can you? When Obama said "You didn't build that", he specifically mentioned the Internet as one thing the Government helped build. If you have even the slightest understanding of the Internet's origins, you would know that it is true. What use would this site be if there wasn't an Internet? How could I have built this site if the government-funded CERN project had not led to the invention of HTML and the World Wide Web? How could we run this site if government-funded projects had not led to the invention of the Mosaic web browser that led to Netscape? The same funding led to the Apache web server (originally Httpd). I could only have built this site because of the contributions of the government. I didn't build the Internet, the web, HTML, web browsers, or web servers. I am very thankful that others did. |
We're being outspent.
Oh and something we'll probably hear tonight "we're gonna win this thing". But I guess technically he's mostly just lying to himself. |
Stop it. Take some pride in what you built. A reason to sit on the internets all night long! |
Sorry jeff but the internet created by the us government is a myth http://techland.time.com/2012/07/25/how-government-did-and-didnt-invent-the-internet/ Apache was created through open source initiatives not related to the government. The original code came from ncsa but was removed. http://httpd.apache.org/ABOUT_APACHE.html |
Yeah, just like most medicines are created by the private sector. I don't think so. It's called the NIH. |
FAIL again my liberal comrade! The private sector drug comapnies are currently scared to invest due to obamacare. In 2011 Obama starts a government program (Surprise) to entice private drug development through NIH. http://www.forbes.com/sites/matthewherper/2011/01/23/the-nih-gets-into-the-drug-development-business/ http://www.forbes.com/sites/johnlamattina/2012/05/15/the-nih-is-going-to-discover-drugs-really/ |
Hah, you must not have read the Time.com article because it is a rebuttal to the argument that the government didn't create the Internet. As the article makes clear, there was government involvement, often by providing funding, in the invention of almost every important technology of the Internet. But, thanks for providing a source to support my contention. The name "Apache" comes from "patches" that were applied to Httpd. You say "the original code from ncsa but (sic) was removed". That means that the NCSA code was originally there, right? Again, the source you provide says "Using NCSA httpd 1.3 as a base, we added all of the published bug fixes...". Maybe Apache has shed all of its original NCSA code, but it started out with a government-funded project as its base. |
Are you serious. Do you really think that drug companies are going to stand in the way of profit. The drug companies have ALWAYS relied on the government for R&D. Obama has only been President for 3 years and poof, just based on Obamacare, the law for what 1 1/2 years, they suddenly stop investing. I don't think so. |
