George Costanza says, "AH HAH!" |
I don't understand. Allowing state governors the ability to waive out of a federal requirement is now a bad thing I the eyes of Republicans? I thought et wanted to empower the states. In this instance they want the federal government to dictate what the states do? |
You haven't been paying attention. Obama did not gut welfare work. Romney is lying about that. |
I saw a GAO quote. The true part is that the change in question is something that must go before Congress in order to be put into place.
The false part is that it is a waiver of work requirements. It is the same kind of rule change that gives states broader authority to administer programs the way they want to do it. This is traditionally a Republican approach to most social programs. So it's a little bit ironic in that regard that they are up in arms about a Republican idea. |
Since Federal tax dollars being spent it is a different ball game. |
Okay, can we get rid of agriculture welfare. We pay farmers to do squat. Republicans have a problem touching this boondoggle of wasted taxpayers' money. I wonder why? |
On grounds that Romney has found enough people to repeat his lie that you now think it qualifies as true? |
It literally took me under ten seconds to find the red PDF/adobe logo in the top right corner with the report. Hide your shame. |
Spend a few more seconds to read the report and let me know if you think it bears any resemblance to the press release. It's not my shame that should concern you, but Oren Hatch's shame. |
I did. It does. And it's Orrin, but in a couple more months, you can call him Mr. Chairman, although I doubt you'll be successful getting him to call you Administrator. |
Orrin did call me once. He had just been in Saudi Arabia as the guest of a wealthy Saudi. He called the place that I worked and I happened to answer the phone. For some reason, he thought I was connected to the Saudi fellow. I had actually never heard of the guy. Hatch immediately started complaining that the Saudi had "stiffed him". I was convinced someone was playing a hoax on me and said I would have to call him back. The number went to his office (I confirmed it in the Senate phone directory). When I called back, he insisted that I needed to help him and was disappointed that there was nothing I could do. So, I don't think particularly highly of Hatch, chairman or otherwise. I think he is a bit of a weirdo. His mischaracterization of the GAO report does nothing to change that opinion. |
The lies of obama have burned through his blanket of deceit.
|
Name one lie. |
You have a grudge againt the good senator no wonder you are bias. |
