Last I checked Europe is going under from way too many government programs like the one you are advocating. I guess you suggest we bankrupt our nation to save the world? On the flip side what's the point of going completely overboard to an unattainable goal bankrupting ourselves and in the end we have nothing.
My question was not what Europe is doing but about the study (or argument) that it's more cost effective to lower the emissions as opposed to adapt lifestyle to rising temperatures and other changes. I am still waiting to hear that argument despite your unnecessary lenghty reply. |
I know tell me about it! We need some type of list of what is good and bad its very confusing? DCUM Doctrine: "Natural Childbirth" (forgoe science and modern medicine bleed to the death feel all pain), GOOD! "No Circ" (forgoe science and modern medicine), GOOD! "Get attacked by insects and mosquitoes no spray at all" GOOD!! "Pay 20 dollars for eggs or a tomato that doesn't use any technology to grow it" GOOD! list can go on, this could be it's own subject LOL |
Oh i forgot "All corporations and profits are evil" - sent from my iphone |

How can we petition for aerial spraying? I mean if liberal states like New York and Massachusetts are doing them how come not DC/MD/VA? Maybe VA? |
I'm sure Europe will be sooooo thrilled to have you. Not. How do you not get that this is not about what is "cost-effective?" Who gives a damn if we're saving money if sea level is rising? You think it's gonna be real cheap to fight back flooding in our coastal cities where the MAJORITY of Americans live? Or to deal with millions of refugees worldwide? I can see that your one of the uber right-wing individualists who don't care about anything or anyone but themselves. Check. |
Guess again. Not ALL of Europe is in trouble. The German economy is still strong and they are world leaders in the renewable energy economy. Ditto Denmark and several other Scandinavian countries that have been strong adopters of sustainable practices and have very strong economies. But don't let your simplistic talking points get in the way of actual facts. |
No, many of us are actually quite realistic. We take what measures we can to make our families and our planet healthier, but being in DC we aren't exactly living off the grid. Plus, denigrating perfectly safe options like natural childbirth just further proves that you are driven by ideology rather than by facts. You know, it IS possible for someone to make different choices than you and yes - ones that are not mainstream - without them being "medieval." You climate change deniers are medieval in my opinion. |
Then you basically have to have issues with the English language to work for MS. Or, maybe OP has inhaled too much Off. |
When I was a kid I dreamed of a future that was chock full of more technology NOT less. It seems that with this current generation we have gone backwards in time. I mean come one why isn't every airplane a concord, why aren't we using technology to be more effecient, why are we still subscribing to med-evil child birthing techniques. It seems that the whole ECO friendly BS has put our society back about 20-30 years. |
How come when I've posted from my iphone, that line never showed up?? not once! You faked it, PP! |
I'll admit that I use Badger bug spray on my kids but nothing on myself. Mosquitoes love me. If I'm out for 5 minutes, I'll end up with 10 bites. They go away. I am not sick. If they itch, I'll put ice on them and/or Benedryl cream. It's not a big deal. But I hate DEET, and pesticides scare the shit out of me. I won't spray the yard. |
Let me guess - you've never either birthed a child or recovered from a c-section, have you? Nope? Didn't think so. Plus, you can't even spell so I'm pretty sure I'm not going to take childbirth advice from you. |
Umm, they offered me an extremely well paid job with unbelievable benefits, and they wouldn't do so unless they are thrilled to have me there (as they say). You are kind of dumb for a supposedly scientifically minded person. Yes, combating global warming needs to cost-effective, otherwise you are doing more harm than good (by definition). Cost-effective doesn't mean "cheap". Costs and benefits involved are not merely monetary. Etc etc. |
Totally agree. Eco-pagans will doom us all. |
