I'm exactly you, except I wake up at 5:15 and run outside from approx 5:30-6:30. I do manage to get everything I need done by 10PM and am usually going to sleep then. We have a weekly cleaner, and I do a MASSIVE amount of meal prep on Sundays...like LOTS of bulk cooking, chopping, washing, bagging, and so forth. This cuts my dinner prep to under 20 minuets a night, often no meal prep at all. I also have an amazing husband who does all of the laundry and also helps around the house. I find that just getting over 7hrs of sleep at night is very exhausting, but I do have a day or two thrown in there where I get 8-9 hrs of sleep, so that helps me recharge. TV? What is that? |
couple of thoughts that have nothing to do with hours slept. 1. Why do you weigh yourself every single day? Isn't that kind of Tab-saccharin-1970s-Dexatrim ? and 2., if your weight really does take off after just 48 hours of not exercising -- and I'm not convinced this is possible, I personally think you're just registering water loss -- then you are eating too much/the wrong thing. But good luck, I know it's hard. Oh, and I don't watch television at all. |
| I don't watch tv and use the cleaning up and prepping as my down time. I do sit at my computer/internet more than I like but a lot of times, I need to do more work. It is hard and the laundry can pile but i need 8hrs of sleep. Work is way too hard otherwise. |

I get one more hour of sleep than you, but my house is a complete mess. I am sitting here, when I should really be cleaning. And darn that Dance Moms show. I thought to myself "who would watch it" and yet, for some reason around 11pm, staying up to watch it the most tempting guilty pleasure ever!! I think part of it is just the pure joy of sitting and doing something so totally unproductive.
My goad (not there yet) is to either go to bed every night earlier, or at least pick one day a week to go to bed super early. But I actually feel tired (exhausted actually). If you don't feel tired, maybe you don't actually need more sleep. Some people don't. |
I like you. I am sitting here doing nothing watching the Olympics. thankfully dance moms isnt on tonight, otherwise, I'd be up even later. |
| Some questions - Why do you have to get up at 4:55 to workout at 5:30? Where are you working out? You don't mention what you're eating. Concentrate on what you are taking in, and not so much the sleep. |
I get up at 4:55 to leave the house by 5:10. I go to a boot camp between home and work (approx 15-20 mins away) that is from 5:30-6:30. I'm at my desk at 7:15 to leave by 4 and get my kids by 4:30-4:45. Re food: I do WW. I eat 90% home-cooked whole grains, lean protein, veggies, etc. My eating is not perfect but its the best I can do. My dr, trainer, and nutritionist all told me that lack of sleep can prohibit weight loss. It doesnt mean that that is what is happening here, but its one missing puzzle piece. I am just trying to figure out the logistics of going to sleep earlier and losing those hours. |

Huh. Cut the grains. Eat veggies, fish, meat and real fat. Stop the frenetic cardio and go for nice long walks. Lift heavy things. No blue light two hours before bedtime.
If you know you need to do something, stop making excuses and do it. |
What is this? |
I dont know what a blue light is. I eat lots of fish, meat and veggies and real fat. I dont know where you got frenetic cardio from, but I cross train with weights, body weight, and running 5 days a week - and there is nothing frenetic about my running. No excuses here, just want to get some extra zz's. |
| Frenetic cardio: you shouldn't be running so much. Blue light: tv, computer, tablet.... |
| And if you know you shouldn't be watching tv, then turn it off. What are you, five? Self discipline.... |
| Ooh, tough love PP. |
| I used to do your schedule...but I stopped working out 6 days a week because it was EXHAUSTING. I now work out 3 days a week with evening walks/bike rides with the kids (weather permitting) and I look and feel SO much better. |
