Using grandparent address to get into a particular school cluster

There are spot check visits on minority family's kid's houses. It happened to us in Ward 3 and we are a family with biracial kids.

No, above poster. Your best friend was fined because she did not reside IN Fairfax County. County residents pay taxes that support county students attending county schools. The post you quoted refers to lying about an address WITHIN the county. If you live in Fairfax County and lie about your address within Fairfax County, you could be sent back to your base school-- the one in the neighborhood where you actually reside. You will not be fined or charged a tuition.

I'll believe it when you provide proof... Since you already pay tuition in county via taxes there is no justification to make you pay something else for the "time out of jurisdiction". The person was STILL in jurisdiction...

She asked the school counselor to help her find a new placement but you can call the office - school offices are staffed in the summer.

Did you not read the post. The individual referenced was no longer in jurisdiction. There was no issue when the family lived in the county. The problem happened when they moved to a neighboring county and continued to send their children to Fairfax County schools which they were no longer supporting with their tax dollars.

DCUM's and their idiotic "provide "proof" comments. Do a little research. There is a difference between what happens when people try to scam the system within jurisdictions and when they try to scam the system between jurisdictions.

A friend of ours is so called "renting" at his friend's place so that his son can attend a better school. Not much is needed to prove that he resides there. He showed them a bogus lease agreement. So if you want it badly enough it can be done!

New poster here: My children are currently watched at their grandparents' home every day, and have been for the past 3 years. When y DD starts kindergarten, it would be much easier to have her in their school district. Is that chaetaing or scamming the system?
