Looks like TRICITIES NURSES REGISTRY & HELPMATES harmed her and got her to pony up what she owed them. Also she lost two cases against the BOE and the state BOE, hmm maybe that is why she is angry |
I'm not talking about the PTA attacking anyone. She sure gets attacked here a lot, though. |
Has anyone here gotten any serious issues resolved by just following the MCPS bureaucracy?
I called, emailed, showed up at meetings, wrote letters, you name it, I did it. The only action I got from my issue was when I talked to The Parents Coalition, it was listed on the blog and then people stood up and took notice. Now the BOE rep for the district has shown up at the school, multiple face-to-face meetings have been held and the local news outlets have also ran stories. Criticize all you want, that blog and the people behind it gets results. |
Since you admit it was public, what was the issue? |
What attainable results did they achieve? |
They got rid of the fees for textbooks. That is pretty good. Anyone in high school have to pay a fee for gym towels lately like they did at Blair HS? |
I love the Parents Coalition. Best group in Mo Co after Andrea McCarren. |
I'm not from Moco but the same thing happens in our county. The schools are in love with themselves and can do no wrong. If you asked questions as an individual you are ignored. The only way to get action is to act as a group and cause a stir. The school system tries to discredit the members of this group by calling them trouble makers and extremist. Yet they constantly monitor what is being said and try to squash comments and ideas before they get too much traction. |
That's what's happening right now! The poster who's so anti-PC ... 10 to 1 she or he is an MCPS employee. |
I am one of the anti-PC posters; there are a few who have posted. I have one son in private and one daughter in public. I am happy with both decisions - and yes, I am against the PC. why? - b/c the fail to post opposing views - they themselves are not transparent - the have agendas which are oftentimes very narrow and definitely self-serving - they attract bitter followers Nothing/no one is perfect. However, using heated language and one-sided information is pure rhetoric at its worst. I will echo another poster who mentioned Bill O'Reilly and I'll add Rush Limbaugh to the list. If I wanted to destroy someone or something, I'd take their lead. Janus is in that camp. She doesn't want to improve the system; she wants to destroy it. She doesn't care about children; she only cares about her own agenda. Sadly, many people are too stupid to see through her blog. way too stupid |

Seriously? The original statement was "they get results" and textbook fees are all that you can come up with? Most courses don't charge for their textbooks and never did. Surely if they "get results" you should be able to list numerous achievements. |
You are right. The group gets thing done. You are smart to work through tem. |
Didn't one of the candidates from MCCPTA who run for the BOE a few weeks ago seek the endorsement from the Parents Coalition? Smondrowski quoted somebody from the PC on her campaign website. So even the PTA thinks the association with the group like the Parents Coalition can bring results. |
School Board member Pat O'Neill called them names, openly at a public meeting. That's how much she hates the Parents' Coalition. |
