if only Janus could see this thread! LOVE IT! any of the PC's minions willing to send this off to the authors of the blog? |
I think this attitude is unfortunate. I don't like the way Janice interacts with others but I will say, she's the only one with her eye on the ball regarding MCPS spending. Sure, she's abrasive, but it's hardly "salacious gossip" to write about things like MCPS' contract with Pierson (which is why we're all crying about Curriculum 2.0 now), their expenditures on things like Promethean Boards and artificial turf at a time when teacher positions were being cut, etc.
Someone has to keep them honest. I don't see anyone else stepping up to the plate. |
Perhaps you need to look around. Incidentally, it is Pearson--------and you had every opportunity to comment on Curriculum 2.0, and still do. The PP got it right--we don't need the abrasive, self-congratulatory effort that has accomplished diddly squat. The only way to keep MCPS honest is to have parents and the tax paying public demanding accountability. |
Pierson, Pearson, so what?
And of course we all have the opportunity to comment on 2.0. But do you really have examples of others who've had the time to gather some of the financial information/impact of this agreement and disseminate it? Our PTAs/MCCPTA have not done this that I'm aware of, and I'm an MCCPTA delegate. If parents and the tax paying public had the stomach to demand accountability, we wouldn't need the Parent's Coalition. Maybe if you could show me some examples of other people/entities who have done so ... |
I agree with the PP. You seem to be wanting to be spoon fed by a loosely knit group of mostly former (?) parents. As a MCCPTA delegate why don't you pull your weight and demand that your organization do more?? |
I intend to. I am a new delegate so haven't had the chance yet. I can't imagine why anyone objects to someone taking a good hard look at MCPS and that's often hard to do from the inside -- and MCCPTA is inside. There's nothing wrong with a little sunshine! |
Seriously? Which school do you represent? Parents Coalition isn't even an organization anyone can belong to. It is simply a vehicle to promote Janis' rantings and hostility towards any superintendent of MCPS. |
Seriously, but of course I'm not going to tell you which one! |
Transparency in action!!! |
For too many years our PTA acted as a mouthpiece for the principal, and the unions. |
Organize. Get parents to stop paying dues/joining. Go to meetings and protest. Write to the Gazette. Be responsible and do your part. |
Yeah, and get attacked like Janis is always attacked.
|
Nanny nanny boo boo to you, too, PP! |
laughable!!! I love it! She wears a suit of armor and has a heart of steel. Nothing can harm Janus. |
So, you are a big part of the PTA and are presenting your fellow members as reprehensible characters? Nice! And you got yourself appointed a delegate because .....? |
