Heavier women who dress...skimpily

I spend the summer in tank tops and shorts, 5', 103 lbs. Gawd, hate the summers in DC.

Me too! I don't mind high temperatures that much, but humidity kills me.

OP, live and let live. Why do you even care what other people wear?

Where are you shopping? I just bought t shirts are the Gap that aren't sleeveless, long shorts, and really nice thick shirts. Maybe you're shopping at the wrong stores. Try Lands End Canvas, The Gap, JCrew, J Jill, Nordstrom, Ann Taylor, Athletica, Lululemon - where are you shopping that you can only find skimpy sleeveless shirts and short skirts? I find modest clothes everywhere.

Guys like a little meat on their women. Especiallly if the guy is not skinny. Maybe OP is just finding this out. Now she can't be anorexic anymore.

Size 2 again. Yes, I own t-shirts and bermuda shorts too. Unfortunately I can't wear them to work.

By the way, here's Ann Taylor's dress page. Everyone one of these dresses is either (a) sleeveless (b) cut low in the boobs or (c) hiked up the thigh. If not, it's a maxidress

Not only do I wear Yoga pants, I have a two piece bikini.
Guess what if I completely cover myself up in a burka you are still going to know I'm fat. If I wear a sweater, it doesn't hide my fat.
Fuck you and what you think of me and my body.
I like me, my husband thinks I'm hot, and that's all that matters.

Hi Fat girl - I want to be your friend. Don't care what you look like, because I don't pick my friends like that.

Fuck you too OP.

Dear Fashion People:

Size 12, 5'7 40 year old lawyer.

Please, for the love of all - STOP already with the sleaveless and cap sleave crap. Is it that hard to sow a damn sleave on a shirt?

Love always,

A Grown Up.

And while we are at it, could we get some casual clothes that don't result in a 2 inch gap between the tops and the pants?

Who cares what size you are. So, you're a size 2, big deal. Most stores sell size 2, in addition to size, 4, 6, 8, 12, and 14. Did you not know that? I also am a size two and have no issue finding appropriate professional attire with SLEEVES, long SKIRTS, and PANTS. Again, tell me where you are shopping, Forever 21? Bebe? Go to a grown up store and stop complaining.

I counted 6 dressed with LONG sleeves, and those come in numerous colors/ patterns. The other dresses can be worn with a cardigan. Again, are you too stupid to dress yourself appropriately?

Size 14 here. Once upon a time was an 8, always had an athletic build, after baby have been a bit blubbery and god knows I enjoy food and wine. I still think I'm attractive, and I like to wear dresses and be feminine and get attention from men despite my curvy curves. I've noticed on the Talbots website that when I look at the models in dresses how I think the larger "Women" sized models are smoking hot versus the super skinny ones, as evidenced below. Same dress, different body:

Is that attractive to you? Versus voluptous yumminess:

Apparently the word "either" is not part of your vocabulary. As to the cardigan, thanks for your fashion advice. Do I have to tip you for that?

I am fat and I have found that i look better in slightly form-fitting clothes than in a huge baggy top. I try not to do sleeveless, but will if it is very very hot, but I do wear form-fitting. I think I look pretty good, and I check with my tell-it-like-it-is thin sister every once in a while to make sure I am not delusional.

Also, I just want to say I feel really bad for the OP. To be the kind of person that posts something like this is just, well, so sad. I do want to be smaller and right now I am working pretty hard at it. But I just love going out with my great friends and having a crazy night full of drinking and eating and good company, and I am just not good at reigning it in. (I know you don't need lots of food and drink to have fun -- i know I need to work on that, and I am.)
But I do know that I look for the best in people, that I am forgiving of flaws in my friends and colleagues, that I remind myself often that anyone can have a grumpy day or make the wrong decision or say something that they didn't mean. I constantly try to give others the benefit of the doubt, and when I encounter someone like OP, someone who not only notices "chunky" women whose clothes she disapproves of, but then goes to the trouble of writing a post like this, I feel bad that this person is missing out on so much in life.

So yeah, I have weight to lose, quite a large amount in fact, but I wouldn't trade my body for OP's body if it meant I had to take her life, too. I suspect it is kind of a sucky life.
