Rob Gonsalves. I love his work.

The first one I looked at was interesting. Well executed with a surrealist bent, a unique way of seeing the world, though the emotional content was a little sappy. The second was similarly interesting. By the fifth one I found them trite. The guy appears to have one idea -- things that look like something else actually become that something else.

AH! Love him! I have 2 originals of his I bought in Provincetown 15 years ago.

Two suggestions:

Pamela Viola. Www.pamelaviola.com
or visit the studios at the Torpedo Factory in Old Town.

I know art is such a personal thing, but gross. You might as well hang a Thomas Kinkade on your wall.

If you like prints, you should check out the Washington Printmakers Gallery in Silver Spring. They usually have nice work up and I've seen so cool stuff in their bins for sale. Also, check out the student art sales at MICA and the Corcoran. You might find something great for cheap. Etsy is also a good place if you have the time and patience to weed through it.

I am jealous! I REALLY want an original. However, the ones I saw recently I was not feeling. The ones I really want are "Listening Fields" (I saw the original, but could not afford it at the time), "Carved in Stone" and "Wilderness Gothic".

Can you go to an art store and make your own? DIY? I think it will be nice and just what you like.

Her art is prettier than your personality, that's for sure.

Is this what Bethenney Frankel gave her husband as a wedding gift, not this painting but this artist. Eeeek.

You are right, here is the one she gave him. It has a Beauty & the Beast, stained glassed quality. Fine for a Disney movie, but other than that - eh. I sure wouldn't hang it in my house, but to each their own.

It's almost art-deco to me. Something my 80 year old granny in Boca Raton might have in the meal hall of her retirement community.

Yikes on the Rob Gonsalves - looks computer generated. Yuck.

And you like "pretty" art. Nuff said.

There is one Artist - a very special Artist - but I hesitate to bring up his name, in case excessive attention compromises the integrity of his unprecedented Works.

Some call him the Painter of Light.

Some call him.... Thomas Kincaid

It's looks like it should be painted on black velvet... and given out as a prize on the boardwalk in Ocean City.

I think you speak of Thomas KinKADE. Thomas KinCAID died in 1726 and was not an artist. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Kincaid

Aaahhh, you are familiar with his work?

DS insisted I buy him a Thomas Kinkade book at a used book sale last month. Sigh.
