So if you're tired of bacon, cupcakes and frozen yogurt, what's the next big thing?

Bubble tea and banh mi were huge (and still are) if you know where to look around here. The thing is... Do you really want your banh mi prepared anywhere but a Viet resto? Probably no, so that's going to limit you to Eden Center, etc.

Bacon cupcakes, obviously.

One of those opened in Fairfax about 2 years ago. I don't think it even lasted a year before it closed.

The one in Silver Spring has closed. Too bad. I guess it means the donut trend has had it's day.

yuck, what a terrible name even if it has some history. Terrible for marketing.

They opened and then closed in Silver Spring, and I can totally see why. The donuts were just horrible, sugary disasters and the staff were so slow, I joked with my husband that they were stoned.

Ditto crepes. I hope the cereal bars that they have on the west coast come to our area.

I believe there is a cereal bar in Silver Spring and DC. There is a crepe bar in Kentlands and Georgetown Park.

I still think it's the crappy name...I would never have thought it was a donut shop so would have even stopped it..

I'd be stoned too if I worked in a doughnut shop. That way I could enjoy the free doughnuts more and not care about the impatient customers. I could just giggle and eat.
