How long did it take you to get pregnant and what age?

29: 1st month
32: 1st month

We were very lucky.

DD1 - 33, tried for 6 mos then stopped officially trying, got pregnant 7th month. I had stopped birth control at the beginning of this 6 month window.
DD2 - 36, tried for 4-5 mos, halfhearted attempts. Started using OPK and got pregnant in a month.

31, almost a year -- no fertility issues, either (but I'd been on BC for 10 years and think that affected things).

OP - do not stress. It becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

This is NOT a representative sample of women - most women do not get pregnant right away. I suspect with these types of threads that a lot of the women who respond are the women who are the extreme one way or another, and more frequently are the women who conceived right away. Frankly, women who had a harder time trying don't necessarily want to talk about it once they're pregnant. Took me 11 months for my 1st, 6 months for the second, and 7 for #3.

Get checked out at 6 months and in the meantime try to enjoy the baby making prcess.

Agree with this 100%. I'm the 31-yr-old that took almost a year. Sometimes it takes even normal, healthy couples a while -- even for #2 (and even if #1 came right away).

I agree as well. At 24 it took me 9 months to get pregnant. At 26 it happened within a month.

Was 42 - first try

At 33--got pregnant on the 2nd month off BCP (not actively trying)

Tried again starting at 36--and it took 11 months (and ended up pregnant via IVF at 37)

However, in my case, my husband had very low sperm count, motility and morphology. The first pregnancy was literally a 1% chance and I knew that I'd probably not hit those odds again so went straight to fertility treatments the second time around.

35 -- 5 minutes...had no intention of getting pregnant and there was only a 5 minute window of time where it could have happened. She was totally meant to be.

I got pregnant at 35 and 10 months - unplanned, while using birth control! doh!
