How long did it take you to get pregnant and what age?

30 - 4 months. I literally got pregnant the moment I left a horrible, stressful job situation. I don't think I even realized how stressful it was, but clearly my body did.

36 - 2 months (m/c)

36 - 2 months

40 - we'll see, but not the 1st 2 months

36, first try (and three months of successful NFP).

Seriously - why would you revive a thread from FEBRUARY 2011???

1. To outrage you.
2. To offend your sense of control over what gets posted.
3. To see how ridiculous dcum commenters can get.

1 month...26. A surprise because DH and I had planned on it taking longer but a happy surprise! Stopped the pill in February and got pregnant in march

(this doesn't apply to people who, for example, have been told they can't have kids unassisted)

I was thinking the exact same thing. And condoms dont fail that often if you know what youre doing.

38, first pregnancy. Oops!

20:03 here. I think the messages we get about OMG YOUR EGGS ARE AGING IT WILL BE SOOOOO HARD TO GET PREGGERS SHOULDN'T HAVE WAITED!! affects our unconscious thinking about the odds. I realized that it did mine when I was surprised about getting preg so fast.

I'd be curious to hear from the "oops"ers on why they didn't know. Not aware of ovulation timing? Thought you were too old?

35, with an oops.

For explanation, we were pretty meticulous about using the "rhythm method" to avoid getting pregnant... and it worked like a charm, until we went on a tropical vacation, had a little too much to drink on a couple of afternoons and threw caution to the wind.

Pretty much knew I was preggo a week before the missed period thanks to some very uncomfortable implantation cramping

I'm 7:13 and we used the same bc method for 7 years. Sometimes bc fails.

Anonymous wrote:OP here -- wow I'm getting nervous. I am charting, and I wouldn't say I'm stressed per se, but I am very tired b/c my little guy is a very early riser and I do a lot of hte parenting b/c my husband works a lot. We have been sure though to hit the timing right with CM and OPKs.

My OB has offered me some testing once I hit the 6 month mark so maybe I should get that done.

32, 3 cycles of charting temps + cervical mucous + OPKs.

I wouldn't worry too much about being tired/stressed. I was still a medical resident, working all kinds of crazy 12+-hour shifts, and was actually very stressed out the month we did conceive.

My oops was because I was still breastfeeding and had not yet had a period. Yes, I knew it could happen but we were down to once a week maybe twice at that point and there were no signs.
