If you say out, then that is on you. Plenty of MLS kids played.

They aren't allowed to play.

Yep, and I’m not allowed to speed.

This. I am so enjoying my kids' HS sports experiences as a parent. Not a fan of the club stuff.

My daughter was a freshman on a team that made a deep state playoff run. I’ll echo board sentiment that the product on the field is undeniably way worse than club (for girls at least). Even the top teams have so much trouble generating quality on goal. But there really was a fun purity and innocence to it all. When the high school football team comes out to watch a playoff game, just a really cool experience you don’t get in club. And I guess it really was the end of the road for most of those seniors who probably started the sport as near-toddlers. Also now makes me think that many of seniors around the teams played their last game on senior night.

PP and agree that it’s not great soccer, but there’s so much fun around it, who cares?

Perhaps my kid’s team is not the norm, but coaches set a great tone. Positivity, respect, sportsmanship, teamwork, all the stuff that really matters.

That was amazing.

Ok I just Googled olimpico because I didn’t know what it was. I didn’t know those were so impressive? I remember a game when my kid was only u9 or u10 where a kid on the other team scored multiple times like that. He had apparently mastered how to curve the ball in just the right way. I guess I was witnessing greatness and didn’t know it? I think the club was either LMVSC or ABGC. Not even top teams. Wonder where that kid is now.

Significantly less impressive on a small sided field with an 8 year old goal keeper. Not to mention there was no state championship on the line. But whatever.

Ok, but the goal is quite a bit smaller when they are young. And the kid did it multiple times in one game. It sure impressed me. I don’t really care if you all roll your eyes. I am so happy to stay a clueless soccer parent. My kids play because they love it, not because I played soccer and need my thing to be their thing too. I guess if it makes you feel good to flex your soccer knowledge on an anonymous board, go at it. I bet our kids end up in a similar place when this is all said and done.

They care, the club pays the penalties. Let's send them a list of players and associated clubs, i bet the clubs wish you wouldn't.
