That was amazing.

Ok I just Googled olimpico because I didn’t know what it was. I didn’t know those were so impressive? I remember a game when my kid was only u9 or u10 where a kid on the other team scored multiple times like that. He had apparently mastered how to curve the ball in just the right way. I guess I was witnessing greatness and didn’t know it? I think the club was either LMVSC or ABGC. Not even top teams. Wonder where that kid is now.

Significantly less impressive on a small sided field with an 8 year old goal keeper. Not to mention there was no state championship on the line. But whatever.

I just went and watched the play on NFHS Network. An absolutely perfect strike. To make that shot with less than two minutes to go in a state championship game, it's one of those things you dream about growing up.

Indeed. DC gets to keep that memory forever. Priceless HS experience

It was heartbreaking to see the other side's reaction, though. I guess that's the beauty of sports.

Honestly, its why high school games are so much more compelling than club games. The highs and the lows. Your friends are in the stands cheering for you, and on the field with you, and for most kids, its the last team they will be on that matters.

Madison was up 2-1 well into the second half.

Agree 10000%.

So I guess MLS Next isn’t ruining high school soccer.

This. I am so enjoying my kids' HS sports experiences as a parent. Not a fan of the club stuff.

It’s the clubs. Over rostering. Coaches playing kids in the wrong positions. Politics. And worst of all . . . Having to commit to a team in February!

It is in the sense that we feel sorry for the MLS kids that they are missing out on one of the best experiences in their lives.
