Class 6 champs
|
| Wooooooo!!!! |
| Who cares |
| Both great games but that boys game was insane. Westfield found a way to get the job done when it mattered most. Congrats to all the State Champs. |
| good soccer! |
Every spring for like five years, there have been posts on here about how crazy their tryouts are, like 150 boys. It sounds like they have a lot of soccer talent in the area. |
| The olimpico at the end was wild. |
| Soccer parents are the best! |
| Lightridge choked in the Class 5 finals, up by 2 goals and conceded 2 back to back with a loss in OT. Kind of happy they didn't win because those kids were about as arrogant as they get. Obnoxious! |
Yet Westfield's JV girls team lost to my kid's school so badly that they invoked the mercy rule. Not a brag/slam at all, but I find it curious that there can be such a weird difference between girls and boys sometimes. My kid's school also had 120+ boys at tryouts, so not sure whether that's uncommon. |
saaaaaalty…. Your kid should have participated. Oh well. |
Ouch |
120 vs 150 at tryouts is a significant difference in competitiveness. Its a very large high school with a substantial Hispanic population-the Hispanic boys play soccer but most of the girls don't. |

The Westfield JV girls team has a lot of rec-only players. The good players on the girls side go straight to Varsity.
Their boys side teams for soccer are really hard to make, even for JV. |
That was amazing. |
