That you consider it unfathomable is a sad commentary on the caliber of students with whom you are familiar. |
Madison’s class of 2025 also had one. |
|
| A guy in my Philly area class went there, but he was a top offensive line prospect, so probably not helpful. |
| For 3 years in a row, they took the top (very deserving) Black student from our school, and no one else. |
| Langley usually has one or two per year. One year they had three, but that was fairly unusual. |
| They take recruited athletes from our private. 1-2/every year or so. |

There are a fair number of Stanford alumni living around here.my guess is that a lot of the admits people are mentioning have a parent alum. I know at least one students referenced on this thread has a parent who is or was on faculty there.
I did not encourage my kid to look there although if we lived out west I would have. |
| Two kids from our DC Public Charter School (gasp) got in. Unhooked too (gasp)! |
| I knew a kid a few years ago. I myself got in back in the day and have a friend around my age who did go. |
| My DD is at Stanford; admitted RD. Has met kids from many local schools including Prep, Stoneridge, Sidwell, GDS, WIS, and Whitman. |
| I know two URM males - both legacy from dmv publics. |
do you mean they took the top student overall (who happened to be Black)? Or the top out of the subset of students who are black? |
because they have more than enough super strong STEM candidates applying from their very own backyard, many of whom likely have Stanford alum or faculty parents. |
Congrats to those kids and the school! Which charter? |
