Anyone received VDA offers after last night's U13G & U14G ID session?

VDA has been sending offers before anyone. They sent some this morning for both age groups and to current players.

This has been covered before, but for the parents of boys looking to get onto an MLS Next squad, you should be trialling with your target team and coach now. DO NOT wait until later in the spring for the clubs announced tryout dates. Offers are going out, but I doubt rosters are set.

The VA clubs select teams for next year in February! The parents are essentially paying for the commitment from their club from August through February. You pay for 10-11 months of programming and get a commitment from your club for 6 months (Aug-Feb). Better players come, and you are not on the team with March, May, June, and maybe July of the season still left. That is a joke, and the adults involved in youth soccer should not allow that. People getting fleeced!

As others have said, just wait and explore all of your options. You will not know the true size and composition of your team until June or July. Can always pay the deposit, as others have stated, or just say you are exploring your options. Talented players will always find a home. Most of these "top" coaches are useless and will promise, recruit, and sell their souls to get a player and build their own brand. Sad state of affairs.

Couldn't agree more. But worse than deposits are clubs that don't even allow them so you either give them or commit to pay them over the next year whether you then try and go elsewhere to the time of $3-4k before Spring even hits. Complete bs.

Agreed, just forcing players to play in bad situations or removing them from their team before the end of the year. Bad all around, no honor in this process.

It's so crazy that "top" coaches will promise the world to new recruits to get them to switch, while they ignore their good and core players. They don't realize, current players eventually get tired of the neglect and will look elsewhere. Cost more to recruit new players then to retain current players. It's not just the money but to get new recruits assimilated to the playing style, program, team dynamic. They know this but somehow can't help themselves for some reasons. Like an ego thing to take players from their rival club(s) even if they are not as good as their current players.

SYC offers started early, as they got an ID in before the ice/snow.

Maybe that depends on age group and if boys/girls
The girls U13 and U14 tryouts were packed for the 1st session back in January.
I'm not sure about the older ages.

Wish all the clubs waited until the end of the spring season - makes the spring awkward
